My son was struggling academically and socially when he arrived at Jim Elliot at the beginning of his 7th grade year. He was also caught in the middle of an unpleasant divorce (putting in mildly) during his freshman year; his teachers, the staff, and his peers were a constant source of support for him and frequently kept me informed of his demeanor at the school. He will be graduating this year with a choice of academic scholarships - more importantly he knows who he is, what he believes, and what he stands for. It s been a pleasure to watch my little boy grow into the young man that I ve always hoped he would be; I feel comfortable letting-go as he enters a world that is frequently unkind and unpredictable. Jim Elliot Christian School has delivered academic excellence, real-world preparation, a sense of community, and a family that will last far beyond the end of our senior year.

I am a senior at Jim Eliiot Christian School. These things I know to be true: Jim Elliot is a place that I will miss and a place that has prepared me for my future as a follower of Christ, as a continuing student, and as a member of today's society. Most schools have the ability to prepare you for one of these, sacrificing one or more of the others. The JE body has been able to find a balance in nurturing it's students to become rich in character as well as in knowledge. I think it must be rare to find a community in which students leave confidant enough to embrace every aspect of their - after high school life. I have been to several different schools throughout my career as a student and never have I seen a community that is so strong it transends past the building. It is easy to invest in classmates and fellow students while in the building itself but to find a place in which teachers care for students and students encourage each other outside of the building - that is a rare community indeed. I have been blessed enough to grow, and to witness the growth of others, in my time at JE. Dont miss out! You too can be apart of Jim Elliot!

We enrolled our son, at Jim Elliot Christian School as a High School freshman, a member of the 2014 graduating class. We had hoped for a small and welcoming community where he had the opportunity to establish close relationships with both students and faculty. A small class size, organized activities like service days and chapel have created that among his classmates and a fantastic group of teachers (with an established mentoring program in place) has accomplished the latter. We are so grateful for this school/community, what a blessing it has been for our family. I highly recommend it if your looking for more than academics - we found real world preparation.

We have been associated with Jim Elliot Christian School for 6 years now. We have had two of our kids in the school in the past, and currently have two kids enrolled in the school full-time. We love the school and especially the teachers. We love the small class size and the one-on-one relationship our kids have with the teachers. The school has a missions focus, yet the academics are outstanding and on par with any large public school. We love how the Juniors and Seniors mentor the younger kids, and the fact that there are no clicks. New kids quickly feel welcome. We are amazed at how well the Jim Elliot kids can speak maturely and with confidence to adults, which is not often seen with kids that attend large public schools. We intend to see our kids graduate from Jim Elliot and will continue to support the school in the future.

Jim Elliot Christian is a little-known treasure in Denver, and has been just what our family was looking for in a school. We found genuine teachers, the kind that keep in touch long after graduation, and a good education without forgetting the deeper things that serve our kids in later years: understanding oneself, understanding God and understanding other people. This community has been empowering and constructive in the lives of our entire family. More families need to know about this school!

Jim Elliot Christian School is a unique school. Because of our small classroom sizes, we are able to really know our students. Our focus is to engage each student academically and spiritually. We attempt to help our students navigate their teenage years while encouraging them to push themselves academically. We know that this is possible only through God's guidance and direction. I highly recommend our school for students who want to grow spiritually and academically.

My 3 daughters have attended JECS- 2 have graduated and one is a sophomore. My son will attend when he enters 6th grade this fall. JECS- its staff, teachers, parents are all committed to the success of the school and, more importantly, our kids. A relationship with Christ is emphasized, and academics are paramount. The result is a school that desires to prepare kids for adulthood, both educationally and spiritually. My 2 oldest daughters, now in college, exemplify this "roundedness". They are Godly, confident, capable young women who are succeeding in college and in life. I attribute a great deal of this success to Jim Elliot Christian School.

I have a 11th grader son who has been going to Jim Elliot School since the 7th grade. When my son firsted started school there he was like a turtle in a shell, very shy and quiet. He would say hi to someone then hide behind someone that was bigger than he was. Now after being there 5 years he has become a beacon of light of God. He gets up in Chapel and prays for staff and seniors and other students. His faith has grown from just knowing what God was to really understanding the Bible and what God has planned for his life. He has played basketball over the last 4 years and has gotten a lot of encourgement to keep playing. The parnets and the community there is just wonderfule we have become part of a big family. The teachers put in a lot of effort in teachering our students moral values and seeing that each student has a different learning type so each teacher applies each students strengths from writing papers, to projects to lots of hands on activities. We have also enjoyed how the students go out and serve the community in differtnt ways such as going to World Vision, Operation Christmas Child and serving in the community. We are very thankful for Jim Elliot.

We have had a son graduate from JECS almost four years ago, and our daughter is currently a senior. This school has been a blessing to our family. As a small school, the students have much more opportunity to participate in varsity sports and drama. It's a safe environment with a spirit of acceptance and love.

We are a new Jim Elliot family (just joined at spring semester) and already we are overwhelmingly thankful to have found such an exceptional school! The welcome by students and faculty was immediate and genuine. The administrative staff and teachers are amazing in both their jobs and in their examples of Christ-like love. I especially appreciate the mentor program, in which each student chooses a faculty mentor to guide them as desired and needed. Another attractive feature for us was the part-time schooling option. Coming from a 100 percent homeschooled environment, our son is able to ease into a different educational setting by choosing the MWF option (there is also a Tu/Th option). Already, he is being inspired to excel in his studies - the bonus being we can tell these teachers REALLY care about kids, and students can grow academically and spiritually in an environment that encourages and supports them. Jim Elliot is FOR our kids, and they know it! And that is so important in these formational teenage years!

The faculty and staff at Jim Elliot are amazing. They truly care about my child, and my child's success academically and spiritually. They model lives that love and serve The Lord.

The teachers demonstrate that they care about each person both as a student and individual. The class sizes are small which promotes an effective learning environment. The smaller class sizes helps to develop a strong bond amongst the students in the class and develop a strong sense of family. There has been growth in academics, faith, and friendships at Jim Elliot Christian School in my student and I highly recommend this school.

I am so blessed to wear 2 hats at JE, 1 as a parent and 1 as an Administrative Assistant in the office. One of my jobs at JE is Admissions Coordinator so I get the unique pleasure of meeting each and every family that is considering JE as an educational option. Through this position, I have learned how amazing the families are at JE. We are a community, truly caring and shepherding each other and the students. Our staff looks forward to spending time with our students and willingly pour their lives into these kiddos through teaching, service projects, mentoring and our sports program. I have never seen another community with such a strong connection of belonging. As an extra bonus, 2 of our children have been able to attend JE, 1 graduating in 2012 and our baby graduating this year. This school has stepped alongside our family and modeled Godly character and invested in the lives of our children. I would highly recommend JE to families seeking a Godly, Christ centered education that includes mentoring, service projects, extra curriculars and strong academics!

Jim Elliot is an incredible school. The teachers and staff are more than dedicated, the student body is caring and enthusiastic, and the core of the whole thing is Jesus. My child has grown in many ways by being a student at Jim Elliot.

My family cannot say enough about our positive experience at Jim Elliot, but it may be most helpful to readers to learn the following from us: The quality and care of the teachers and staff are excellent, and I know my child is getting equipped and prepared for college. My daughter is also developing an authentic relationship with God, and strong Biblical foundation at Jim Elliot, and the students take part in service days during the school year as well. My daughter has been able to integrate her faith throughout her whole school day, and appreciates being able to investigate her faith openly and honestly with people who are not her parents. There is also time each day for students to get extra help from their teachers if needed (one half hour before school), and we can email and meet with them when needed. My daughter also enjoys it when all the grades interact at lunch and other times, and she feels free to be herself there. Lastly, there is a great sense of community, and a network of great parents who really care and want to be interconnected. We love it here!

This school has been such a huge blessing to our entire family. Not only are my kids taught and mentored by a staff that truly loves them and only wants the best for them, but the community of families has become like a second family for us. Our kids are challenged to apply their faith to the everyday life through classes, service days and mission trips. I was first amazed by watching the interaction between all the grades and so enjoy that my kids (9th and 11th grade) cross the lines to engage with older and younger students alike. The teachers also try to teach to many different learning styles. The sports and drama programs are hard to beat, allowing the kids to grow outside of the typical school day. It's hard to encapsulate how special Jim Elliot is, but I can't imagine having our kids attend anywhere else!

Jim Elliot is a truly unique school. If you are looking for small, personal, excellence in education and an opportunity for your child to grow spiritual through mentor-ship, community and personal spiritual formation, this is the right place for you! I am a JECS alumni and to this day I consistently find myself referring back to much of what I learned from my time at Jim Elliot. I was able to have a solid education, meaningful relationships with teachers who really cared and opportunities to grow in my calling that have shaped much of my adult life. I would highly recommend this school!

I couldn't have imagines a better match for our family. Community service, the arts, and sports fit our kids' priorities perfectly. The addition of AP courses is exciting for us as parents. There is a wonderful spirit of community across the grades that I have never seen in twenty years of working in education.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
