The new administrator is bringing a lot to the school. He has a heart for mentoring. He is mentoring the teachers. He is supporting the teachers mentoring the kids and encouraging older kids to mentor the younger ones. I am looking forward to the year. My son was excited to be back to school at JE this August. (P.S. Last year was a tough year without an administrator. I personally don't agree with some of the negative comments below. JE has earned my respect, more so through the tough year even if things weren't perfect.)

Sadly Jim Elliot's current school board and recent board has hurt this school. Many amazing staff and teachers were fired without explanation, leaving the community shocked and confused. The staff and teachers do care about the students, but the board does not! The school board wants "certain specific christian families" to come to this school. They do not want students seeking answers about faith or families that won't say yes to everything the board decides. It is awful to see a long standing school suffer in this way. Other gifted staff chose to leave the school instead of continuing to teach there. There is a lot more going on there than they (the board) will want you to know. Many situations were not handled with Christ's love. The stars given are reflecting what I have seen this last school year.

This school was an important part of our family for many years. We love what it was. The school board asked parents to post favorable reviews here to get new students to save a dying school. They have fired multiple people, ignored the bylaws and blindsided parents. It is sad. It WAS a wonderful place. This school is hurting at best, and suffers from lack of leadership, poor financial management and no accountability. Teachers are loving people, but not always trained as teachers. Be careful of a positive reputation that no longer reflects the reality of what your child will experience here. Note: The Principal listed on the Great Schools information is no longer employed here.

Jim Elliot is such an incredible place for our daughter. They nurture her entire learning process, academics, emotional, and spiritual. She is allowed to re-do homework until she gets a score she is happy with, which allows her to learn deep and not just surface and move on to the next topic. They are intentional about each child. Their peer to peer mentoring has a huge impact in helping her to feel like she belongs and is wanted. Because she has a learning difference, she struggles to understand subject matter. Jim Elliot allows her to learn and not just get by. I am so grateful for this small, caring, exceptional community!

We are so thankful to have our son at Jim Elliot Christian School. Before enrolling our son, he was signed up for a shadow day (which I highly recommend you do). When we picked him up, he was so encouraged and enthusiastic about the school because he could hardly believe that even the high school kids went out of their way to talk to him and make him feel welcome! After a full school-year, we can honestly say that this positive social atmosphere has continued to be the norm. There are friendships formed across the grades with the older kids taking on the responsibility to build others up, lead and set a Godly example for the younger. We highly recommend Jim Elliot Christian School. You and your kids will find a community of teachers, staff, students, and parents who embrace the call be a set-apart school for God s glory. The students there learn within a Biblical context and worldview in all subjects by teachers who truly love them as they mentor, walk alongside them, and build them up in the Lord. The small class sizes, mentor-based, Christ-centered and missions-focused education the kids receive at JE won our hearts over any other school we've considered.

There are so many things about this school we love. There is a great mix of academic excellence and Christ centered spiritual encouragement. The teachers truly get to know each individual student and are intentional in learning your child's learning style. You are able to choose between full time or part time for your student. For part time, you can select between core or elective classes, whichever fits the educational needs of your student. With the size of the school being smaller, your child isn't just another number. This gives them more opportunity to participate in sports, theater and other activities.

Jim Elliot Christian School is a small Christian school that has a lot to offer. Two of my children have graduated from JECS; I have one that currently attends and another one that will start attending next year. I love the sense of community that our school has. The parents, students and teachers all work together to provide the best atmosphere possible for learning academically and growing in faith. The small class sizes are important. The teachers are able to really know their students and assist them when needed. JECS also has a wonderful mentoring program. Students are encouraged to talk with a mentor of their choosing whenever they feel the need. Being a teenager in today's world is difficult. Knowing that my teenagers have another fully trusted adult to talk to is priceless! Our family has been a part of JECS community for six years and we highly recommend this school to other Christian families!

Jim Elliot has been great for my son. I am impressed with the JQuarter week where kids have many different and varied "enrichment" opportunities. This year kids have opportunities in Colorado, New York, and Washington D.C. From the arts to aviation, camp counselors for a local school to games of Northern Ireland, I think JQuarter is a wonderful addition to the regular curriculum.

We have been part of the Jim Elliot Community since 2009. The heart of our community focuses on working with the uniqueness of each student and how they each learn, as well as, mentoring relationships that students build with teachers they relate to. The students have rich opportunities to experience service days and outreaches in the community to pursuing God through weekly chapels, worship, retreats, cross cultural mission trips and Bible Study. The desire of our school is to disciple our students to know Jesus and join Him where He is working in the world. We seek to teach all of our classes using the Bible as the filter through which everything is understood. The teachers and staff at Jim Elliot have been totally committed to working with our son in pursuing Jesus and offer a safe place to ask questions and find answers. Anyone that is seeking an environment where God's Word is central to all that is done and Jesus is the most important relationship a person can have would do well to look at JE as an option for your child's education. This school seeks to be a true lighthouse on the hill.

Our kids have been attending for several years. The staff is fantastic at relating to the learning styles of our kids. The intent of the school is to raise up Christian leaders that desire to reach outside the school wall and make an impact on our community. One of my favorite graduation requirements is that all students need to take an international missions trip to experience other cultures and learn to make that commitment. With it being a small school the school is always trying to stretch the dollar, with the intent being to not raise tuition unless it has to..

I am a parent and our daughter has gone to Jim Elliot for 3 years now. She absolutely loves it and does very well in academics and socially. The administration and faculty are all very good and easy to communicate with. I would recommend this school to everyone.

My son was struggling academically and socially when he arrived at Jim Elliot at the beginning of his 7th grade year. He was also caught in the middle of an unpleasant divorce (putting in mildly) during his freshman year; his teachers, the staff, and his peers were a constant source of support for him and frequently kept me informed of his demeanor at the school. He will be graduating this year with a choice of academic scholarships - more importantly he knows who he is, what he believes, and what he stands for. It s been a pleasure to watch my little boy grow into the young man that I ve always hoped he would be; I feel comfortable letting-go as he enters a world that is frequently unkind and unpredictable. Jim Elliot Christian School has delivered academic excellence, real-world preparation, a sense of community, and a family that will last far beyond the end of our senior year.

I am a senior at Jim Eliiot Christian School. These things I know to be true: Jim Elliot is a place that I will miss and a place that has prepared me for my future as a follower of Christ, as a continuing student, and as a member of today's society. Most schools have the ability to prepare you for one of these, sacrificing one or more of the others. The JE body has been able to find a balance in nurturing it's students to become rich in character as well as in knowledge. I think it must be rare to find a community in which students leave confidant enough to embrace every aspect of their - after high school life. I have been to several different schools throughout my career as a student and never have I seen a community that is so strong it transends past the building. It is easy to invest in classmates and fellow students while in the building itself but to find a place in which teachers care for students and students encourage each other outside of the building - that is a rare community indeed. I have been blessed enough to grow, and to witness the growth of others, in my time at JE. Dont miss out! You too can be apart of Jim Elliot!

We enrolled our son, at Jim Elliot Christian School as a High School freshman, a member of the 2014 graduating class. We had hoped for a small and welcoming community where he had the opportunity to establish close relationships with both students and faculty. A small class size, organized activities like service days and chapel have created that among his classmates and a fantastic group of teachers (with an established mentoring program in place) has accomplished the latter. We are so grateful for this school/community, what a blessing it has been for our family. I highly recommend it if your looking for more than academics - we found real world preparation.

We have been associated with Jim Elliot Christian School for 6 years now. We have had two of our kids in the school in the past, and currently have two kids enrolled in the school full-time. We love the school and especially the teachers. We love the small class size and the one-on-one relationship our kids have with the teachers. The school has a missions focus, yet the academics are outstanding and on par with any large public school. We love how the Juniors and Seniors mentor the younger kids, and the fact that there are no clicks. New kids quickly feel welcome. We are amazed at how well the Jim Elliot kids can speak maturely and with confidence to adults, which is not often seen with kids that attend large public schools. We intend to see our kids graduate from Jim Elliot and will continue to support the school in the future.

Jim Elliot Christian is a little-known treasure in Denver, and has been just what our family was looking for in a school. We found genuine teachers, the kind that keep in touch long after graduation, and a good education without forgetting the deeper things that serve our kids in later years: understanding oneself, understanding God and understanding other people. This community has been empowering and constructive in the lives of our entire family. More families need to know about this school!

Jim Elliot Christian School is a unique school. Because of our small classroom sizes, we are able to really know our students. Our focus is to engage each student academically and spiritually. We attempt to help our students navigate their teenage years while encouraging them to push themselves academically. We know that this is possible only through God's guidance and direction. I highly recommend our school for students who want to grow spiritually and academically.

My 3 daughters have attended JECS- 2 have graduated and one is a sophomore. My son will attend when he enters 6th grade this fall. JECS- its staff, teachers, parents are all committed to the success of the school and, more importantly, our kids. A relationship with Christ is emphasized, and academics are paramount. The result is a school that desires to prepare kids for adulthood, both educationally and spiritually. My 2 oldest daughters, now in college, exemplify this "roundedness". They are Godly, confident, capable young women who are succeeding in college and in life. I attribute a great deal of this success to Jim Elliot Christian School.

I have a 11th grader son who has been going to Jim Elliot School since the 7th grade. When my son firsted started school there he was like a turtle in a shell, very shy and quiet. He would say hi to someone then hide behind someone that was bigger than he was. Now after being there 5 years he has become a beacon of light of God. He gets up in Chapel and prays for staff and seniors and other students. His faith has grown from just knowing what God was to really understanding the Bible and what God has planned for his life. He has played basketball over the last 4 years and has gotten a lot of encourgement to keep playing. The parnets and the community there is just wonderfule we have become part of a big family. The teachers put in a lot of effort in teachering our students moral values and seeing that each student has a different learning type so each teacher applies each students strengths from writing papers, to projects to lots of hands on activities. We have also enjoyed how the students go out and serve the community in differtnt ways such as going to World Vision, Operation Christmas Child and serving in the community. We are very thankful for Jim Elliot.

We have had a son graduate from JECS almost four years ago, and our daughter is currently a senior. This school has been a blessing to our family. As a small school, the students have much more opportunity to participate in varsity sports and drama. It's a safe environment with a spirit of acceptance and love.
