Connections Academy is amazing I'm a student and since i have really bad luck "health wise" CA really helps I'm a night owl and instead of doing my lessons and assignments when they're due i do them the night before so im always a day ahead! It's really cool i usually work from 6 or 7PM to about 12am and it works for me its very easy to contact teachers via webmail or even phone. this school is flexible and awesome!

I was determined to be a part of my kids school experience. Connections academy makes this possible, easy, fun and allows me to feel like my kids will have everything they need to succeed. We've begun to get ready for our fourth year and we are excited!

Colorado Connections Academy. I read one parent's review that they had rude teachers and the staff were unhelpful. They had a bad experience and they felt it was from their child's low grades. I personally got only engaged teachers. One was a bit difficult but asking for their help and being "Nice" to them goes a long way. My child has struggled the last three years. Never once would I blame the school or the teachers. It was totally my child! The internet, IPhone etc... were a huge distraction. I was also hugely involved in learning how the school works. How to contact the teachers for help and when a teacher offered, I made sure we were online! Honestly we had more interactions with the staff and teachers with Connections than our old brick and mortar traditional local schools. We also went to field trips and school outings and got to know teachers and other families. Also a huge amount of patience is needed when the school is having the TCAPS. I found the families who have most problems with the school are those who are unable to spend the time needed to be involved. Sad because most families find Connections enjoyable compared to the other options!

If you have multiple children enrolled it may be a challenge to get school done. You will need more than one computer for sure. In my opinion, the school work load is a lot for grades 4th-6th. The are required to complete lessons, complete portfolios and attend Live Lessons. I school is not that flexible with how or when the students can complete school. You are not able to move around from completing units they must be done in order. The teachers are overall great in the 2 years we were with CO Connections there were only 2 bad apples.

We have found CCA to be a nice change to brick and mortar. The schedule is flexible unless your child gets too far behind. It' s the type of school where if your child stays on task, goes to the classes and stays involved they will flourish. The classes are challenging and the support is there, but, it is up to the student to ask and get involved. My 8th grader is having a positive experience.

I love the parent participation in my child education. I also love the flexible hours. It is not doing the work at home by yourself. You are following lessons placed by an instructor and the instructor is always right there to help when needed. I would really recommend this school to others as well.

My daughter attended this school for almost a full year and had a horrible experience through them. Every member of the facility we encountered was very rude and unhelpful. They do not truly care for your child's education. If your child is not getting good grades and good attendance they are not willing to help you, work with you, or help your child get on the right path. They will turn their backs on you and drop you without hesitation. Their 1-800 help line is an unorganized mess. And their principal and vice principal only care about their school's stats and ratings. On their website it says above 90% of parents approve this curriculum, that is because they only ask the very few select parents with kids who aren't struggling in school to write reviews. If your kid struggles in school, stay as far away as possible from this school, they are not looking to help you. If you have a perfect A+ student then maybe this school could be a good option for you but don't expect understanding and help from them if your child isn't performing their best.

I had a child of mine attend this school for a while, and I'm so glad to be done with this school. They need a lot of improvement on their system. Their connexus website for online courses has a lot of bugs and problems. My child was experiencing constant crashes, tests unable to submit, and you aren't even able to save your progress on how much work you got done. It needs a lot of work and the teachers are totally clueless on how to help you with all the bugs their system has. They say your child can work at "their own pace" according to their adds but that it a total lie. They create a daily planner on how much work your child has to finish daily and if your child falls behind they are not lenient on allowing them to catch up. When I tried to have a talk with the vice principal, he was very rude and condemning. He wasn't willing to help me or give my child another chance. He was very harsh, accusing, and he wasn't willing to be understanding of my child trying to catch up and wanting to try their best.

The school is okay. They still have a lot of work to do . They have some teachers who are great, others not so much. You can tell some take advantage of the remote and don't really teach. The school also makes it hard to communicate and know who to speak with if there is a problem. And during the yearly testing don't choose the Springs location, very unorganized and the staff is unhelpful. Its also not a good setup for the kids to do well. Again its not entirely bad they do have a curriculum and they ability to work from home with advanced classes is good now if they could improve the teacher quality and make possible to communicate and know that chain of command. Oh and control some of those kids that run rampant in the chat rooms.

Connections Academy has offered a unique learning environment for our son. This is our 2nd year with Connections Academy and we very happy with our decision to home school! Connections makes it possible. With out their help and support of supplies and amazing teachers and staff, we couldn't be homeschooling! There is no way I could create my own curriculum and make sure my son learns everything he needs to learn. The program is amazing and really neat the way it is set up. We can spend more time on things he enjoys and more time on things he doesn't understand. He gets to learn at his own pace and can get the one on one attention he needs , that makes him so much more successful! Can't say enough good things about this school!

I choose this school for my daughter because of the strong curriculum and clubs that were offered, I like that we can schedule our lessons when we want allowing for extra activities after we complete to days work or in between classes. The Lessons are easy to navigate with lots of extra ideas if your student needs a little more help on the subject. I like the fact that if my daughter already has the skills taught in a lesson we can do a quick review and move forward to something that will challenge her. There are weekly live lessons that allow the kids to talk to others in the class as well as the teacher. Over all a strong Curriculum, easy to navigate website, and real teachers who are there to support your child.

Colorado Connections Academy is online school that allows children to break away from the tradition desk and chalkboard classrooms. Allowing them free-range to learn at their own pace.

We chose Connections Academy because my daughter was having severe panic attacks at a public school. We thought that once she worked this out, she would go back to public school. Well, that was 4 1/2 years ago. She has been an honor roll student every year for the past 4 years. This would not have been possible if it were not for the attention of the fantastic teachers at Connections. The second they see a student haveing trouble with something there on it immediately, there calling and web mailing and they get things taken care of before a student falls behind. They work with them to make sure the student truly understand before letting the student move on. You will never see this in a public school, or even other on line schools. When my daughter needs help, there always there for her. The teachers at Connections walk that extra mile for each and every student and this is extremely important for our future. These teachers know that these kids ARE our future and they make sure that future is going to be a bright one! Thank You Misty Scheidt

Our 6th grader is with Connections Academy since 3rd grade now and we can't express just how pleased we have been! The curriculum and teaching in general seems superior to our old brick and mortar school as it took a bit for our daughter to catch up and get used to the higher expectations. The individual attention is amazing and something she never received in "regular" public school. Her weakest subject is and has always been Math and Connections Academy has gone above and beyond trying to help her! We also have a severely disabled son and his physician and therapy schedule was always a pain with our daughters old schools hours which put even more stress on us. The flexibility that Connections Academy affords us by completing lessons on our own time online is priceless! Our child was bullied in "regular" school and started having anxiety plus migraines due to stress with teachers and students. Not a good environment there at all and we are so happy we found Connections Academy. Teachers can always easily be contacted and are always happy to help! Our daughters homeroom teacher usually calls at least once a month to check in. The only regret we have is to not have started out here!

Many people aren't familiar with an online school schedule, pace, or follow up system and it takes a lot of adjustment, but when you consider that both you and your student have to work together with the school staff, it should make it obvious that THIS is what schooling should be for students. Ask yourself the following; When was the last time you could review the entire work/homework schedule your child was required to complete for EVERY assigned class? When was the last time you were able to review ever answer on every test or homework assignment in your childs class? No more "Oh, I forgot", or "I don't know what I got wrong", or even missing assignments. It's all in print on YOUR screen at home. And there are no more behavorial issues, fights, favoritism. It is learning as it's meant to be. Set by expierenced and knowledgeable staff, with guidance, taught and supported by both teachers AND parents.

We love this school.. far better than the charter school my kids were at. It is a demanding schedule but it is very flexible. My children are getting the individual learning here and moving at their own pace, rather than being held back. The teachers are amazing.

I was excited when the ads described CCA as a "work at your own pace" school, but the truth is if your child does fall behind in the daily work they will fail. This was no different than homeschooling as far as the parental commitment, you must be your child's full time teacher and the CCC teachers are only there as occasional help. Example, if there are 100 assignments within the school year and your child "works at their own pace" and only finishes 80 they will fail. It's very deceiving, they do not give the children who do not fit into a normal school pace tools to succeed. My opinion this school should only be used as a tool for homeschooling your own child not as an alternate public school source.

Suburb school. Clubs and activities are amazing. The best decision we ever made. Staff is super supportive. Our child is thriving here.

They are not the best school for online schools. They LIE saying that YOUR CHILD WILL LEARN AT THEIR PACE!. Rude as can be. Books are so old that they need to think of getting new books and equipment. They also forget that there is a parent that needs to be included in discussions so we know where the kids and teachers are at so we can help our kids at home.

This is a great school for kids that need to be able to do their work on their schedule needs. But it will only work with strong parental involvement and a self starter. This is a good fit for my son.

I am a ninth grade student. Connections has adapted to what I need as a student. I do miss my friends from my regular school but I think I am learning more at Connections. The big advantage is that I do not have loads of homework. Overall, a great school especially for gifted students.

I am the parent of a 7th grader at Connections Academy, and I am beyond impressed by this cyberschool. My son has learned an incredible amount in the short time he has been with CA. The lessons are so enriching and the format is stuctured, supportive, and easy to follow. The Junior Great Books program is wonderful. His teachers have been engaged and of high quality. I am thrilled with all I have seen so far. My son enjoys his classes and has developed a strong interest in science and literature.

We allowed our children to attend Connections academy for two years. One of our daughters attended 4th and 5th grade and the other daughter 7th and 8th grade. The program was a complete failure. There is no direct teacher involvement and they refuse to credit the children properly for the credits they earned so that they could transfer to a traditional school. I would rate the school for all four grades 1 star out of 10 with that star given simply because I believe parents need choices.

This is our third year with CCA, and it has been very productive and successful for our family. My twins were really struggling in the conventional public school, although that school has received high marks for standardized testing. I have been able to work with them, and see the progress each makes. Twins, but two different learning styles, have been making great progress! Will give an A+ to this wonderful 'Virtual Public School' program.
