We enrolled our daughter at MSE in 5th grade after a very disappointing 4th grade year at our local public school: she had over 30 children in the class with her, a teacher who did not know her at all, she was not being sufficiently challenged and was extremely bored. She is now at the MSE middle school and has been thriving there, with academically challenging classes, incredible teachers, and a wonderful, well-rounded curriculum. I have no doubt that she will be thoroughly prepared for whatever high school she attends.
The staff is truly caring and involved in each child's education. They really educate the whole child. My daughter is truly happy at school.
As the parents of two boys enrolled in MSE, we have been thrilled with the individualized attention our children receive, along with the skills they have developed (accross the board) in their years there. Their "boyness" is truly embraced in their daily experiences at the school, and as a result, we believe their appreciation of education and their love of learning is now simply part of who they are. Additionally, MSE strikes an excellent balance in instilling responsibility in the students without overwhelming them with too much pressure for performance.
We have been MSE parents for 6 years since pre-school and plan on staying through middle school. We love the individual attention our children receive, the exceptional experiences they get to have and the interpersonal skills they gain from small classes.
I have two children enrolled at MSE. One who started in preschool and is now finishing 3rd grade and another who moved from GT program at Parmalee who is about to graduate 8th grade. Our family is so committed to this school. The teachers, staff and curriculum are outstanding. Our daughter moved to MSE in 4th grade and had no problem transitioning from public school to MSE and to see how she has thrived, even through the challenging years of middle school is just unique and incredible. Our children and our family have blossomed in ways that continue to surprise and inspire me. We are incredibly grateful to have this school available for our children and so grateful to be a part of the MSE community. Finally , in a nutshell: academically challenging, forward and global thinking, character-building and a truly top shelf education!
MSE provides an exceptional education to its students. As the parents of two Middle School students, we are absolutely convinced of the value that Montessori School of Evergreen provides. Having tried a number of other schools in the area, it is clear that MSE's emphasis on the development of individual students, and a focus on hands-on learning, sets is apart. If you want your kids to develop a love of learning, and to become engaged, confident, and thoughtful members of their community, you will love MSE.
Between our two children, we have nine years experience at MSE. Both girls are encouraged to be independent, creative free-thinkers. The girls are wonderful at coming up with solutions and seeing questions from different perspectives. The spiraling curriculum gives the children in-depth understanding of the topics they study. The teachers and administration are very open, and questions and concerns are dealt with promptly. We are lucky that our children can attend MSE.
Two of my children have attended MSE since pre-K. One has graduated and gone on to a top private high school in Denver. The other is in middle school. Excellent school - top-notch academics (transition to a private HS was easy), very caring teachers, great community of involved parents. School instills a can-do attitude and builds children's confidence. Only drawback, that can be viewed as a positive, too, is that it is small (~ 20 kids per class) and by 9th grade, most are ready to move on to a bigger environment.
This school is a true jewel of the mountain community! No expensive infrastructure here -- instead this school's focus is on the children. The teachers are amazingly qualified and dedicated to their work. They work hard to create an individualized experience for each child, ensuring that the children are always challenged and nurtured for who they are. The focus at MSE isn't on testing -- it's on creating well-rounded children who are self-motivated, confident, and able to effect positive change in the world. Truly an inspirational place!
This is not just an amazing school but an amazing school community. I have yet to find a school that has more dedicated and loving teachers. The mutual respect and awareness of the world that the Montessori School of Evergreen encourages has completely changed our children and family for the better. We have researched and checked all of the schools in our community and public or private this one shined above all the rest. You won't find a more embracing and encouraging educational environment in this community. Truly, truly an outstanding school!
