We left this school in August of 2011. It was the best decision we have ever made. Our Child was being watched by unlicensed teenagers and frequently had full diapers when I picked her up. The management was offensive and rude to us, very unprofessional and unresponsive to our concerns. Additionally, they dismissed our inquiries about a Probationary Status Letter from the State of Colorado by stating since it wasn t my child involved, it wasn t my concern. I would never recommend this school.

nice smaller school setting, core curriculum program

Posted April 21, 2008

My children have had the best year here so far. My kindergartener is reading fluently. My grade schooler loves her teacher and her friends. I am so delighted with this school that I wish everyone knew that we don't have to drive down the hill to get a quality Christian education. My children write well, and are at least a year ahead of my neighbor's public school kids in math. I couldn't be happier.

I am a father of two children who have been at EA for several years. I have been very happy with the administration, staff, and other families. My kids are excelling academically and are well cared for. EA is an outstanding school that teaches an excellent and challenging curriculum, as well as the opportunity to learn Christian values such as patience, kindness, and forgiveness. The school is small in number, but big in heart. EA has more support from their teachers, area pastors, and school families then ever before!

AS a certified elementary school teacher, I think all children should have the opportunities for academic and spiritual growth available at EA. I have taught in public schools and reviewed extensive curricula, and find that EA's is top notch. (Especially math and science) I have had two children spend several years at EA, as well as one who is now in public HS and thriving. (3.4 honors last year) EA's only problem seems to have been a divisive board that thankfully is no longer in existence. My children are thriving this year in two multi age classes, which, as a teacher myself, I see the wisdom therein. My younger child who is gifted in math, has been in the older math group for years. My other child is gifted in English, gets plenty of attention with the older kids. Keep it up, EA! Signed, A happy mom

No child should ever replicate our daughter's experience from last year, hence this submission. From my perspective, I haven't seen Evergreen Academy (EA) make changes that guarantee the past won't repeat itself. It is my opinion that this 501c3 is still not accountable to its mission nor has it removed its conflict of interest. As such, I no longer trust EA with our daughters. I pray Evergreen has access to a Christian school but I can t endorse Evergreen Academy in this capacity. I grade EA an A+ for curriculum (excluding science) and scenic setting, but an F for academic execution, leadership, testing integrity, enforcement of standards, safety, fiscal responsibility, positive kid and staff mentoring, and 'kids-first' accountability. After a few weeks at our new Christian school I could visably see how depriving last year's mixed-aged classes, resource constraints, and ineffective mentoring were to our daughter's development. Both are thriving now.

Although this is just our second year at Evergreen Academy, we now have two kids there. This is a place where the kids are known, loved, and very well educated. We are thrilled with the way things are going this year in what is a now, a super positive environment. Lessons have been learned and the school is stronger for it. There really is no other option, in our minds, in the Evergreen/Conifer area.

The staff hired this year are doing an excellent job at getting to know the children and one another in such a short time. It's amazing to see how much love is shown to the children in just the first few weeks of the new year. The teachers are patient with the mixed classes and have communicated with parents on an unbelievable level! Weekly class emails, notes and phone calls to keep us parents up to date...just amazing! We're so happy to have made the decision to place our children in EA!

I have had several grandkids go through the EA system since it opened its doors in 1995. I have also had children go through the local public schools, and while they were acceptable, there is no comparison to the education and environment my grandkids are now receiving. I see that my grandkids are knowledgeable and get excited about difficult subject matter. I have gotten to know the administration. They are well qualified, responsive to me and everyone I see. I find the principle, assistant and teachers to be very ethical and helpful to me. I am a very experienced parent. I would not hesitate to send any child to EA for a good, solid Christian education,

I am a parent at EA and have been one for several years. As a father, I gathered, and continue to gather, all the information I need about the education for my children, and am thrilled with what I find. I have a daughter who has graduated from EA after 6 years there, and has successfully navigated two AP courses and maintains a 3.4 average in high school. I attribute that entirely to the job EA did by her, and am delighted. Signed, a happy dad

We love Evergreen Academy! Our first grader is loved, challenged and cared for deeply by his teachers, administrators and everyone else who is actively involved in this school. If you're looking for a perfect school, this is not it, and good luck finding one. If you're looking for an academically excellent school where Jesus Christ is the center, and where your child will be challenged, encouraged and loved, then look no further.

I have been a teacher at Evergreen Academy for six years and have really enjoyed working at this great school. The administration has continually challenged me to grow professionally and the environment has always been a loving environment where students are taught through a Christ-centered world view. Your child will be known and loved at this school!

I am getting a great education from the loving staff of EA. With the small class sizes, the extra attention I need from teachers is amazing! If I don't understand something, they're helpful and take their time with me! I wouldn't want to be in any other school and hope that there will be more children out there that get to experience Evergreen Academy as well. All this talk about what happened this past year...is it really about the kids or are parents just having a hard time with their own problems? It's sad to know that some of my friends have left because their parents are upset about some things that apparently they don't agree with. I just wish their parents would look back and see how great EA really was and still is! EA rocks! I love Evergreen Academy! Take it from me...I'm always there!

This school slid from a school on the cusp of greatness, into a school mired in ethical and moral decline. The administration has no accountability. Ask lots of questions if you are considering this school.

If you want your child to be in an unhealthy and educationally weak school, then this is the place for you. The lack of accountability and unwillingness to take responsibility is obviously causing a breakdown in the quality of education being offered. Unfortunately, it appears the owners/administrators have resorted to making decisions based NOT on what's best for kids and/or what is educationally sound, but instead what's best for them in order to keep their ship from sinking. If you are comfortable having mixed-multiaged classes and being at a school where the administrators/teachers are not held accountable for their teaching and test giving methods then you will fit right in. Just don't ask questions....you don't want to know the answers.

EA has gone thru a rough past year with some personal fall outs that had nothing to do with the school itself. But due to the human nature of rumors being spread, administration had to deal with alot of unnecessary side things that may've gotten them a little sidetracked and lost communication with its staff. People live and learn and make mistakes and grow from them (hopefully on EVERYONE'S part from this past year). Overall, the children receive a GREAT education in a loving environment that surpasses any public school around! Testing concerns were investigated and dealt with in a proper manner and the school will continue to provide its above average education in the years to come! No need to look elsewhere! As a parent of 2 children enrolled, our family couldn't be happier! Check out Evergreen Academy if you want top quality education with love! You'll get it there!

Evergreen Academy has many strengths that have worked well for my son. He has been there for several years and has unique needs as a gifted child. My son has been in both public and private educational settings, and nothing compares to Evergreen Academy. The caring the teachers have shown him, the high Core Knowledge based academics, and the Christian foundation are the perfect combination.

I have had a child in EA for several years after investigating the local public schools and couldn't be happier with the academics. The Christian education is a wonderful plus. I find the administration to be caring and meticulous, and the teaching to aimed to help each child succeed. My child certainly has, and I am quite pleased. I have known of very gifted kids at EA, and ones that need extra help, and all seem to do well. Mine is more middle of the road, but she is meeting her potential and writing and reading very well. I hope EA is around for many generations to come.

I have a two children at Evergreen Academy, and am delighted with the amount of individual attention my children have received. I am sad that each of my children's teachers are leaving. One has moved more than 40 miles away, another has left for very personal reasons that having nothing to do with her stay at EA. I am confident that the administrators will continue to pick wonderful teachers who view Christian, academically strong education a special calling. Keep up the good work, EA!

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
