Good teachers, excellent child development in key areas. Strong parental involvement in the classroom. Could not be happier with our school choice!

No recall of this being an issue, nor discussed.

Supports LD students: Strongly agree

My son struggled with his speech when we first arrived at the school. At our request, the school immediately enrolled him in speech therapy and Miss Danielson was quite helpful!

Effective school leaders: Strongly agree

Peggy Miller and Miss Darby are quite effective and have displayed genuine empathy each time I have interacted with them.

Develops character: Strongly agree

I love the Buffalo card system, which are handed out to those students who demonstrate those cultural values determined by leadership to be the most important....responsibility, respect, kindness, learning.

Teacher effectiveness: Strongly agree

Only have experience with Kindergarten (son) and first grade (daughter), but the teachers are understanding, effective and collaborative with parents.

Amount of homework: Agree

- a
Homework for 1st grade daughter is enough to keep her mind engaged and learning after the school bell, but not too much as to be daunting.

The school has a few good teachers, however the principal, Peggy Miller, has run this school into the ground. It is everything but about the kids. She puts on a decent show at the beginning but it doesn't take long to understand what is going on. She is all about protecting poor teachers, the union and her neo liberal politics before the first child. She doesn't care at all if your child is not learning. I was amazed at how open she is about these beliefs. She also doesn't believe in GT, terming it a "sham" and nothing more than "white privilege". I spoke to a number of individuals in the Jeffco administration and they all know this is happening but can't get her out because of the union. Stay away, very far away, from this school.

Large class sizes, teachers are not great, principal is not professional, poorly run school. Snobby parents who act like they are in grade school. Avoid the school....you will be much happier....we are at Wilmot! It's a real mountain community school!!

Teacher effectiveness: Disagree

- a
The teachers are ineffective due to the leadership of Peggy Miller. The teachers can only do so much when the ship is clearly sinking!
