After reading the reviews, I am compelled to set the record straight. Evergreen Country Day School began as a preschool - Children's Center of Evergreen in 1971. My children entered the program in 2000 when it was Evergreen Mountain School (PS-Middle School). When a permanent campus location was identified and significant donations were realized, Evergreen Country Day School grew as a result. All three of my children were tremendously fortunate to have been a part of this wonderful school community. They are confident, academically prepared and socially mature due to the caring, nurturing environment, small class sizes and high expectations. The school has always delivered a top notch academic program and, beginning in 2008, a state of the art facility. My daughters have never been witness to or associated with bullying. The administration, faculty and staff provide a welcoming atmosphere that is unlike any school I have been associated with. I am proud of my children's success and the choice that I made to send them to this school 11 years ago.
Our family has just finished its third year at the school in both early childhood and elementary. Our two greatest goals were a strong academic experience and a strong social environment for our children. Our experience has been nothing short of outstanding. There are many areas that I could comment specifically on, but my greatest appreciation is of the individualized attention that my child receives on a daily basis. My children are excited and ready for a summer of rest, but will be ready and excited to return in the fall. So will I.
Excellent school, outstanding teachers, devoted leadership, and appropriately challenging program. I strongly recommend Evergreen Country Day School! We've been very pleased and will continue to send our children to the school for years to come.
I have had children at the school for almost 7 years now. The school is warm, welcoming, challenging and promotes creativity. The teachers are very approachable and, in my experience, have gone out of their way to create a feeling of family. What I most admire about the staff and administration is their dedication to character education, meaning honesty, integrity and a sense of honor. This education begins in early childhood and continues into the eighth grade. The administration deals with challenges to this appropriately and creates a teaching experience for our students. We love it there!!! And would not consider any other educational option in the area.
DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO ECDS, I had one child there and it was an absolute nightmare. My Child was harrassed daily, tortured to tears. On top of it, the bullying comments where often of a sexual manner. Upon bringing the issues up to the administrators and faculty, absolutetly nothing was done. My child was put in a room with the child that harrased him daily and told to work it out. The harrassing continued. In one short year I saw my happy child, who loves school, loose almost every bit of his self esteem and self worth. After trying to talk to the principle, staff and faculty, and even the parents, absolutely nothing was done. Each and every one of them turned a blind eye for fear of loosing a tuition paying parent. Most of the middle school left for the same reason. The only ones that stayed are the families who had been there for a long time. ECDS has a don't look, don't tell, bully policy. I personaly saw more then one child tortured to tears. I am so thankful I was able to get my child away before he was permantly damaged. AFter a summer of counseling he is now in public school and thriving. ITs shameful that thats what you get for thousands of doallras in tuition.
I have had children in this school for six years and despite the posting regarding bullying I have never seen any bullying, heard about any bullying and my kids have not experienced any bullying. Rather each of our kids have developed great friends and good social skills to deal with conflicts with their fellow students. Each of our kids have also had a lot of individual attention from the teachers who have been excellent. They have challenged our kids as needed, and supported them when needed. The environment is very supportive and welcoming. I highly recommend this school. Also the school has been around for over 20 years and was formerly called Evergreen Mountain School.
Evergreen Country Day School is an outstanding school. The academics are second to none, but even more importantly students at the school experience a sense of belonging. The small classes and supportive teachers have been a real asset in our daughter's education. We enthusiastically recommend ECDS!!
ECDS is an outstanding school The headmaster is very engaged with the parents and students. The teachers care about teaching future-based capabilities --to include not only academics but ethics character as well. We highly recommend this school.
From the moment you step onto the campus, you are sure to feel it .the collective energy of students and faculty!! ECDS is an incredible school .and each semester/year the caliber of faculty and education continues to improve. It's a unique atmosphere of warmth, safety, and vibrancy. An undiscovered wonderland for Colorado children. I have 2 children at ECDS and wouldn t go anywhere else. Growing up on the East coast and valuing a child s education, I highly recommend Evergreen Country Day School.
This school is amazing! This next year will be my 10th year here and I could not be more excited! The teachers and environment are excellent. If you are considering this school you are not making a mistake in any way!
