My daughter is currently in 5th grade at Pleasant View and has attended there since Preschool. This school is innovative in it's methods, both academically and in the socio-emotional growth of children. The administration and staff truly care about every student's success. The free extracurricular opportunities provided at PVE rival what her cousin is offered at a prestigious private school. Families are welcomed and given tons of opportunities to be engaged and involved in their child's education.
Pleasant View works diligently with all of its students on individual growth. The staff knows all the kids closely and makes sure to maintain good relationships with the families. One of the reasons for its success is the caring and dedicated staff, unlike any I've seen before.
Pleasant View Elementary has a staff and community members that work together every day, throughout the school year (and beyond) to meet the needs of every child. Every teacher goes well above and beyond their contract hours to commit to making each child's educational experience unique and meaningful for that student's learning style and needs. Sending a child to Pleasant View means a custom-tailored educational experience from Day 1 and beyond. i highly recommend this school!
My therapy dog and I have been volunteering at this school for the past two years and it is amazing. I wish I would have known of it when my children were elementary aged. From the office staff to the support staff to the teachers, everyone works closely together to help children succeed while feeling nurtured and loved. We work with all levels and all grades and consistently see differentiation for students as well as supports in place to help higher achievers as well as students that struggle. I am honored to be able to volunteer here and highly recommend you look beyond test scores if you would like an amazing community to send your child to. Each child is treated as an individual and each child matters. It is well worth a second look!
Take a closer look at this school! Test scores don't tell the whole story . The growth scores for Pleasant View paint a more accurate picture of the great work and care the entire staff devotes to the students and their families. You might think Project-Based Learning, Mindfull Classrooms, Academic Parent Teacher Teams, and a multitude of after school enrichment clubs (which are free /grant funded buy the way!) would be the kind of quality programs only offered at upper income schools - but guess what, these are open to all at PVE. The support and community camaraderie are like no other. You're not judged at PVE, you're respected and wanted. Students are not just "a number". The great work at this school is rooted in the belief that EVERY child can reach his or her potential given the best individualized instruction, support and encouragement.
My son loves this school. His teachers have taken so much extra time to make sure that we are communicating regularly about where he needs improvement and are so great at creating that parent teacher relationship needed to get him focused. He's grown so much just over this last year and primarily due to the support and time taken to help him understand both his academics but the importance of having goals and putting effort in.
