Take a closer look at this school! Test scores don't tell the whole story . The growth scores for Pleasant View paint a more accurate picture of the great work and care the entire staff devotes to the students and their families. You might think Project-Based Learning, Mindfull Classrooms, Academic Parent Teacher Teams, and a multitude of after school enrichment clubs (which are free /grant funded buy the way!) would be the kind of quality programs only offered at upper income schools - but guess what, these are open to all at PVE. The support and community camaraderie are like no other. You're not judged at PVE, you're respected and wanted. Students are not just "a number". The great work at this school is rooted in the belief that EVERY child can reach his or her potential given the best individualized instruction, support and encouragement.
My son loves this school. His teachers have taken so much extra time to make sure that we are communicating regularly about where he needs improvement and are so great at creating that parent teacher relationship needed to get him focused. He's grown so much just over this last year and primarily due to the support and time taken to help him understand both his academics but the importance of having goals and putting effort in.
This school is rude and never listens to parents. They say it is a no bullying school but I've seen my three kids get bullied for years. They hang up on me all the time. They ignore my son's problems and have started to bully him as well. I would never ever recommend this school to anyone.
I could never recommend this school for anything, I have had two children in this school for 5 years and can see that they will stuggle when they get into Middle School to catch up with other students. Would add if your child has an IEP this school is next to worthless in helping them succeed!
No homework, even though classes have been cut in order to focus on "passing the test" and not doing a good job at that. Run down. If your child is well behind, this "may" be the school for you. Otherwise, not recommended.
This school has been absolutely wonderful for my son. He is excelling emotionally socially and academicly. Prior to attending PV he was struggling and hated school (at a highly rnaked school, I might add). Now he is happy, what more could a parent ask for. I highly recommend PV.
