Appleton Elementary is a wonderful school and environment for children to learn and grow. We researched public, private, and charter schools. In the end, we chose Appleton and are so happy that we did. The principal is so engaged with the children and has created a learning and"family" culture that continues to amaze us. The teachers are top notch, and my kids have found a love of learning. We love our little, country school.
Things have changed a LOT since my children first started going to Appleton many years ago. It is NOT the 10 school it once was. Too many changes academically as well as staff..... Old tried and true methods work best which is why the school went from a 10 to a 6 in testing. Sad.
When my child attended Appleton Pre-school, it was a WONDERFUL school. We wanted him to attend Kindergarten there, but after going for his registration we were shocked to see the overcrowding problem there. It has become a real problem all over the Grand Valley. He is attending another overcrowded school now and we are looking at homeschooling him next year. The academic programs at Appleton (what my son was exposed to) were wonderful and he was so excited about going to school. Also, the P. E., art and music was fun for him also. As a parent, you always felt like you could be involved with anything at anytime. He took speech there and had a wonderful caring teacher and both his pre-school teachers were AWESOME!
Wow! What a wonderful school. There is so much parent involvement and it shows, what a success. We moved 1500 miles from TN to CO. Just for the education and small town morals. We have not been disappointed. The academic excellence shows just what can be achieved through parent/teacher communication and involvement! Thanks Appleton for a great school and lets not forget an A+ principal as well.
