Fox Creek is such a fabulous school! I have absolutely nothing negative to say. From summer communications by my son's Kindergarten teacher scheduling park playdates for all of the students assigned to her class for the upcoming year (awesome), to the beautiful school grounds, to the "specials" offered (music, art, technology, gym) to the principal playing guitar on the first day and singing along with students, etc... the list goes on and on. Staff is friendly, helpful, and they actually enjoy the children and get to know each and every child's name. PTO is incredible and schedules so many fun activities to raise money for the school, to help out in the community and to bring school families together. Also, the care and concern for the safety of all children there is first and foremost with constant communication on safety procedures, watch dog dads, etc. The quality of teaching just blows me away. My son learned to read, do math, explore his artistic side, be active and grow in his confidence and independence. All of this in Kindergarten! We are moving out of state and I pray that we will find a school as good as Fox Creek! Thank you for giving my son such an amazing start!
Before we open enrolled at Fox Creek last year we did our homework. We toured several schools and interviewed principals and teachers. A lot of what the other schools were talking about Fox Creek was already doing. We are so happy to be part of the Fox Creek family. The administrators and teachers are the best in the district, the PTO is very active, the parents are engaged, and the students are happy and respectful all of which make Fox Creek a great environment. I would highly recommend Fox Creek!!!!!
All three of our children have attended Fox Creek. Our daughters have moved onto high school and middle school respectfully and have thrived both academically and socially. There is no doubt that the Fox Creek administration and teachers exceeded our expectations in providing a solid foundation for them to build upon. Our son presently attends Fox Creek and he loves it! Upon arrival, you will find the most welcoming atmosphere; loaded with high energy and comprehensive focus of instruction. The administration, teachers, staff and PTO are second to none; we love Fox Creek!
This is our fifth year at Fox Creek and we couldn t be more pleased! Both of my boys love the school and their teachers. The teachers are amazing. We ve had some behavior difficulties at times with the boys, and the teachers have always worked with us to find the best solution for our kids. When you walk into the building, you are greeted like family. Parents are always welcome to volunteer in the classroom, get involved in activities, or just hang out and observe. The before and after school care program is top notch great teachers and a really family feel. It doesn t get much better than at Fox Creek!
My boys have been attending Fox Creek for 4 years now and the teaching staff has exceeded our expectations on a regular basis. The PTO organization is very strong and brings a real sense of community and partnership to our overall experience. My best friends are those from our neighborhood schools. Please consider Fox Creek as your school! GO FOX CREEK!
Extremely pleased with the experience our two girls are having at Fox Creek. The teachers are excellent, involved and compassionate. The school is open to new ideas and works to incorporate the best of educational change. The parents are actively participating in the activities. Very impressive volunteer organization. Can't say enough about this school, highly recommend it to all parents with elementary level children.
I have two children at Fox Creek. We've been at FCE for 6 years, and it has been the perfect elementary school experience both for my children and for us as parents. The teachers are first-rate and always challenge the kids to look at things in new ways. Communication between teachers and parents is terrific, and I love that parents are always welcome at the school either to volunteer in the classroom or to observe or just to drop in and have lunch with our kids. Fox Creek is a very welcoming school, and you feel a part of a bigger community. My kids have drastically different needs academically, and they have both flourished at FCE. We couldn't be happier!
My children have attended Fox Creek for 3 years. We moved to Highlands Ranch from a different state. I am continuously impressed with the level of dedication shown by teachers and administration to students. The PTO is a strong organization and offers many ways for parents to get involved. Not only have my kids made lifelong friends, so have I. The sense of community is phenomenal. I love that my kids look forward to going to school.
I have nothing but great things to say about Fox Creek. A fabulous group of teachers and staff fully committed to the kids. A true sense of family and community. Our two children thrived at this school - wouldn't want to have them anywhere else.
I have nothing but positive words to say about Fox Creek. I do and will recommend this school to anyone. We moved here from out of state 3 years ago and are still amazed at how great of a school Fox Creek is. The teachers/staff are amazing! They truly care about each student and make each one feel that they are important. When moving grades and finding out what teacher your student will have for that upcoming year, it is never a worry at Fox Creek, any and all of them are great. I have never seen a principal so involved and active with the students and parents, what a great leader! As a school, they respect you as the parent and your time as a family. Fox Creek is more than a school, it is a great group of people that come together as a community. When we first visited Fox Creek 3 years ago, I remember feeling welcomed the moment I walked in the door and I still feel that today.
My kids have all gone to Fox Creek but I have to admit that there were a couple years that I was checking into Academies as it seemed the "In" thing to do. After further research (2 years) and countless conversations with other parents and students, who had switched to the Academy and had been very disappointed, I decided to get more involved at the school to find out if there where any truth to my concerns. The concerns that I had (advanced child not being challenged) was being handled by the Teacher and staff effortlessly. I am still with Fox Creek and I am VERY happy. My kids all have friends that are in their neighborhood that go to their neighborhood school. And in my opinion, the way it should be! Thank you Fox Creek for making this possible for me and my family! Also, I would like to point out that one thing that the Academy schools do have right is mandatory parental volunteering. Getting involved at your school and investing your time, gives you a sense of belonging and pride. So, in my experience, before you decide to leave your neighborhood school for an Academy, get involved at your school !
Dear Parent 11/03/11: My children now go to a charter school. Charter schools are public but you can only get in by winning a lottery. If you are interested, hurry up - deadline for applications is coming up. Charter schools do ability grouping so your child will be placed in the right group. The school also tests students 3 times per year to make sure each student is placed in the right group. Another reason I like about charter school is its discipline. It is stricter. Parents are also more involved and more academically "driven." 40 volunteer hours are required per family. If you do not win any lottery, I'd consider going to Willow Creek Elementary ( a cherry school district). It is not far from Fox Creek.
This is correspondence with the parent whom posted on March 20, 2011. I totally understand your point of view. I had same experience with neighborhood school here. I heard a lot of parents with this issue. So I had my kindergartner tested for reading and math and gave the results to teacher at the first day of school. (She is at the end of second grade reading and beginning of first grade math) She set with rest class learning phonics and 1-10 counting!! I would like to know which school does you child go now?
We relocated from Pittsburgh, PA to Highlands Ranch last August, 2010. Our middle son went into 6th grade and thrived in the environment even though he started 1 month later than the others. We have a kindergarten student there now and enjoy the depth and caring of the staff and the potential enrichment. The principal, while a decisive leader, has been there many years and has create a world-class school. Impressive.
We have been more than pleased with Fox Creek. My sons have grown and excelled every year. All of our teachers have been open to communication and work with us to determine what is best for our kids. My kids have participated in Jam Club rock band, technology club and Kids Caring for Kids with Cancer. There are many other clubs, activities and enrichment programs as well. For us, one of the most important aspects of the school is the sense of family you get when you are a part of Fox Creek.
As a previous student of Fox Creek I absolutely loved everything about the school. My teachers were caring and always tried to help me succeed. I could tell that all my teachers cared about me, and loved their jobs. This school helped me to grow as a student and prepared me for middle school and even high school, I wouldn't be in as good a place academically with out Fox Creek.
My children both attended Fox Creek k-6 and had a great experience! Both of my children would be considered advanced and absolutely thrived at Fox Creek! They are currently attending HRHS and are both in honors classes and Advanced Placement classes and doing exceptionally well. The teachers at Fox Creek exceeded my expectations in meeting my children's educational needs. I would, without hesitation, recommend Fox Creek Elementary School!
Fox Creek has some of the most caring and educated teachers. We have had 11 different teachers between my 3 kids at Fox Creek and have been pleased by all. The teachers understand each student as an individual learner and strive to provide the best learning experience possible.
Even with the budget cuts for Douglas County the leadership and teachers have continued to go above and beyond to do what they can to ensure every child receives the support and education they deserve. My 1st grader is struggling with reading and there are many staff members involved in supporting his success and giving me additional tools to use at home to help him read. I know there are parents that have moved to a new charter school, but I don't see why. Fox Creek has the best teachers and leadership! We are thrilled our younger son will be starting Kindergarten in August!
We are just finishing our fourth year at Fox Creek., and currently have two children enrolled. Once again, we are thrilled with the progress our children made this year and the quality of their teachers. The teachers go above and beyond our expectations every year, and our girls love this school. There is a strong sense of community at Fox Creek with plenty of extracuricular activities for all different types of students. We continue to be pleased with this school.
