I an a teacher at BCE and have worked in 5 different schools during the past 25 years. I must say that Bear Canyon is an exceptional school. The climate for students, parents and staff is second to none. It is a pleasure to come to work each day to see the true community effort between staff and parents. Because of my position at the school, I hear many conversations about students every day. Teachers at this school are always looking for new ideas to help all students learn and grow. The RTI process that is being implemented at Bear Canyon is an innovative way to make sure all children are taught and challenged in a way that will allow them to be successful. I believe Bear Canyon is an example of what a great public school should look like.

Bear Canyon has a great teacher in Mrs. Burns. The rest, in my experience, are lacking. While they claim to be all about the kids, if your kid doesn't fit their perfect little student mold, they get singled out and made to feel that they can't do anything right. And forget the zero tolerance policy. Doesn't exist here. Bullying has been a problem for my child, and though Principal Weaver is a very nice man and does know all the kids by name, I'm not impressed by the way he has handled these ongoing problems. The best thing about this school is the music program. Julie Tobin rocks!

I love Bear Canyon Elementary. My child has had some really great teachers here, very upbeat and positive. Principal Weaver is a terrific leader, and creates an atmosphere of excellence. Plus, he seems to know every child by name! Impressive.

Bear Canyon is a great school. A school is only as good as it's administrator.

BCE is a home to everyone with every cultural backround. It has the best teachers and administration in the state. I'm a former student from BCE and I absolutly loved it. Everyone I knew from BCE were kind and didn't care about how I looked or acted. The students get the best education and there are many outside activities that kids can participate in. The teachers takes part in hands-on projects which are fun and educational for everyone. The administration is extremely nice to all visitors, parents and students and they care about giving students extra effort. Send your kids to this school!

I love Bear Canyon Elementary! I have a kindergartner and a third grader and my experience with this school has been great. In second grade my son was having mild trouble with phonics, he was pulled with another child for 40 min of one on two attention...in a public school. BCE has great parental involvement and community support. We are getting a new principal next year and have only heard wonderful things about him so we are very excited. I feel like my kids are safe and happy at BCE and we are very pleased to be going here. Certainly, there are negatives, all schools have them. This year you will love your teacher next year you will hate them. You can't get around that. Overall, I say BCE is wonderful!
