I am a graduate of Genoa-Hugo and my children are now going to school there. It was a great school when I was there and the new administration is working to put it back on top. There is small classes and great teachers who stay after or come in early to help the students. There is Friday school (4day weeks) for students who need extra help or have fallen behind. The administration is working to get all the students involved in activities so no one feels left out. Genoa-Hugo is one great school.

This school is not very good. I am a current student and there are no options for students. Class and club choices are limited and most of the teachers play favorites with certain studets. If you want a school that only cares about sports and doesn't care about academics, then this school is great. But if you want you child to have a decent education, this is not the place.

Now I may not be a parent, but I am a fairly recent graduate of GHHS. I have attended several schools through my accademic career and of all of them this one is the best. GHHS may not have all of the class choices of a larger school, but there are enough to allow you to be able to do most anything. The teachers in this school are so commited, they stay late anytime a student needs help, come to their houses if that works better, and will even come to the school on weekends to allow students to work on projects. The music program at this school is average, I participated in it for many years. It is small but nice. Art is an area where GHHS has trouble due to budget cuts. The sports program is excellent, most students are active in at least 3 sports a year.

I am curretnly a student at Genoa-Hugo High, and it is a great school. It is small, so you get pulled in about a million different directions, but the students are kind and helpful to others. There are no click problems, there aren't enough students for that. Some teachers can be a problem at times, but and know what they are doing. Good administration, just changed superintendants, and that really helps things. Students are pressured to be in every available group, which can be extremely overwhelming. Those who don't participate in a sport are considered lower than the rest; the question isn't if you'll make the team, it's just if you want to or not. Overall, a great school.
