My son went to this school for kindergarten and I was hugely disappointed. He entered a year ahead in reading and ended up on the same level at the end of the year. His teacher told me she didn't want to do stratified reading groups because she didn't want to offend the students who were not as successful. To add, no math was done the entire year. No adding objects, no combining objects, no number sentences because I was told it wasn't part of the state standards. Also, not one art project came home. I asked every day what they did in class. No painting, no pottery, no creativity expressed. It's no wonder this school is ranked in the bottom 10% in the state. Don't be fooled by their rating on here, they teach to the lowest common denominator and haven't yet learned to reach the average and advanced kiddos. I have a little experience to say all of this as I have my masters degree in teaching and have taught for 15 years.

My daughter goes to Letford and I am a teacher here. I have worked at 5 schools in my time and Letford is the best. Great loving principal and brillant and loving teachers. The kids are kind and no bullying is allowed or tolerated. I would recommend Letford to anyone.

I have found the staff and Principal to be loving, caring and very reponsive to my child's needs. Because of the leader, the school is doing very well.

Although I love the teachers at this school, I'm a little concerned about the leadership of the school. Both teachers my child has had have been wonderful at getting more out of my child then he wanted to give. The result he has been on the honor roll several times. But in the few chances I have had to speak with the principal, I have been become concerned that she may not handle things appropriately because she does not understand a whole issue. she did not fully understand the problems I was trying to bring to her attention because she has bad hearing. Needless to say none of them were solved to my satisfaction, and I gave up. The school never called when absent.
