Lake City Community School

The Lake City Community School is one of the top two public schools in the entire state of Colorado. As a resident of Lake City, I am proud of our school, and of the professionalism and caring of the staff and administration. This school is a huge asset to our community and the kids seem to thrive there.

I was treated very poorly as a parent by other parents because I am a single mom. The school's librarian made a huge scene in the school, during school hours about a non-school related issue. I found many of the teachers to be unprofessional in their approach with me.

Lake City Community School is an amazing school. LCCS is Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade community school located in a small rural town in Southwestern Colorado. This school boasts some of the highest math scores for the CSAP in Colorado. Students benefit from low student to teacher ratios and many opportunities for small group and one on one instruction. What other school do you know of where the Superintendent knows all the students names?

Lake City is great for elementary age children. It is like a small private/public school. Once the kids get older there is just not enough of extra curricular activities for them. There are no sports, cheerleading, proms or anything like that. Overall it is a great school, especially for elementary age children.
