Classes at Dunstan begin at 7:15 am, which is ridiculously early for middle school kids. It is also very inconvenient for parents who still have kids at the elementary school next door where classes start at 9. Plus studies have shown that middle school kids perform much better with later start time. My son has an early bed time but has a hard time getting to school by 7:15. Start time needs to be moved to 8 am.

This is very good school. Over all, the teachers are invested in the success of the students. Teachers regular stay after school, come in early and stay in for lunch to meet with students and provide additional support. The teachers at this school are professionals. The administration is communicative and helpful when contacted. The counselors are helpful and responsive to student and parent needs. The school does not get a 5 because well as with all schools there are some teachers that are difficult to work with.

I am a parent that has put 3 children through this school. Education is unsatisfactory and teachers seem to give up half way through the school year. I would NOT recommend this school. If you have the opportunity to open enroll somewhere else DO IT! I tired to intervene but always met resistance. My 2 eldest are now honors students in college. No thanks to Dunstan nor the Jeffco HS they attended.

This is by far the best middle school around. The teachers are fantastic, the math is way advanced (2/3 of kids are above grade level in math), there is a strong anti-bullying policy and for a middle school to have virtually no bullying is amazing. Everyone is nice to each other and the principal is great and loves the kids. They have a strong connection to their high school, Green Mountain, and the overall community between the middle and high school is phenomenal!

I Hate this place. I ran around all of Jefferson County AND Denver Public Schools looking for a new school all summer long. Yeah, the academics and learning is great but the bullying has made Dunstan the most hated school by students. The 8th grade went wayyy down because TONS of people left. I learned alot, but the bullying has driven me nuts. Its not JUST about the academics.

We choice enrolled and drive 4 miles out of the way for my daughter to attend. She has really excelled here and being new to the school did not hurt her. The staff and students were very helpful and welcoming and the opportunities to succeed are vast. The teachers respond well to feedback and genuinely care about the success of their students. We have been very pleased with our experience and feel confident they will prepare her well for high school.

Incredible school. The biggest secret that Jeffco Public Schools has - and the benefit goes to the students. Fantastic staff, completely professional and positively educational teachers, and great system with teams, where students shine individually, are respected for their uniqueness, and are taught to strive for their personal best.
