My daughter has done really well at Patterson. She has great friends and has learned a lot. She is advanced and the school makes sure that they challenge her sufficiently.
Patterson International has a great IB program. My child comes home interested in his planet and caring about others. The teachers seem dedicated to helping every kid learn in a manner that is best for them - especially in reading. I am a bit concerned about the standardized test scores that are a bit low and the student/teacher ratio seems too high also. But I believe the students get a well-rounded education.
The teachers care. They all make you feel welcome and show interest in your child. They lead by example, and get the children excited about helping their community and environment.
This school has an amazing staff. I was very sorry that the Challenge program was pushed out to make room for the IB program. It was a great loss for Patterson and the school seems wrong without the program. Those children enriched the quality of the school.
I have two kids in this school, one in 5th grade and one in 1st grade. Since I had been out of work I have taken the time to volunteer my time in the classroom. The teachers in this school are phenomenal. They keep in constant contact with us about their progress and have opened communication about any problems they might have academically. The amount of work that the teachers have to do on a daily basis is amazing. They deal with about 19 kids in both my kids classes, but yet when you talk to them about each student, they are able to tell you all about them. How they remember all of that is amazing. I recommend all parents to volunteer just one full day and they will understand what I am saying. It is important that as parents we have to work with our children daily.
I switched my daughter from a private school to Patterson. I am so impressed with the school and its Special Ed program esp teacher Rochelle Mullenberg. My daughter could not read or write when she started 2nd grade r/t Dyslexia that was not diagnosed at the very $$ private school. Since starting she is now reading and making significant progress thanks to staff. Also they just reached International Baccalaureate Status only school in Jeff Co!! Great schhol
