I have two children attending Rooney Ranch and it has been a wonderful experience. The teachers, staff and administrators have all been great. They seem very dedicated and driven to make this school a top rated school. Parent and community participation is strong and positive. Can't think of any negative experiences thus far. The class size and budget issues are attributed to lack of funding accross all school districts and this school has been doing an outstanding job considering budget cuts and other funding issues.

Rooney Ranch does a very poor job of addressing bullying. Principal Martinez seems to just sweep things under the rug. She will appear to be polite and professional, but effectively puts things aside. Their academic performance is also over-rated. After leaving Rooney Ranch, my son was effectively 1 year behind in math. If you have any concerns at all about your childrens' social well-being, do not send them to Rooney Ranch.

I am a parent of a first grader who attends Rooney. I enrolled my daughter at Rooney because I know that no matter what teacher she has, she will get the best instruction, guidance, and care of any school in Jefferson County. The principal is a compassionate, but firm leader involved in every aspect of the Rooney Ranch Community. It's obvious that she sets standards high and always puts children first.

The teachers at Rooney are loving, supportive, attentive and proactive with the students. They work hard to make sure that all students individual needs are met. There are many involved parents which is also helpful to contributing to a friendly community and a rigorous academic environment. The teachers maintain good communication with parents. The teachers have high standards for the students academically and behaviorally. My children have both been treated fairly and kindly by all of their teachers. I will miss this school when my children grow out of it!

I have had two children in this school now for three years and still have mixed feelings about the staff and highly disappointed in the principal. I honestly couldn't say that this is a great school. I m hoping the principal will learn how to be more conscious of her actions and words when it comes to dealing with parents and the kids. She talks down to them rather that treating them as individuals.

I have 2 kids at this school. I think the staff is great and there are some great teachers here. My oldest daughter's teacher isn't the greatest though. Not very much communication.

I think this is a great school. There is a high level of involvement and many opportunities to volunteer. As far as fundraising, there is a PTA fundraiser in the fall that returns most of the money back to the classrooms. The vast majority of the teachers are highly committed and it is a caring community. It isn't perfect, but name something that involves humans that is?

Rooney Ranch Elementary is great. The parent involvement and teacher involvement is excellent. The teachers put forth extra effort and communicate well with parents. Music and art and wonderful, and both my children enjoy Rooney Ranch Elementary. Both of my sons belong to Chess Club and love it. The quality of teaching is very high, the teachers are great at working with parents when there are issues with getting homework turned in, etc. I think Rooney Ranch is excellent.

The school looks nice from the outside and most of the staff is friendly. We are new to the district and I think that it depends on the teacher you get. My sons teacher isn't the greatest and doesn't comunicate very well. Music, art and PE are available. They are on a rotating basis. The have a lot of fundraisers. I would give this school a C+ as of this moment in time.

This is an ok school. Used to military schools that are much more parent involved and friendly. I would give this school a C.
