At one point, LCHS was a well rounded school. Unfortunately it has really taken a turn for the worse. Almost all the teachers here are willing to work, yet only a minimal amount of those teachers are willing to work for the benefits of the students. As an advanced student, I get extremely board during the regular school day and I have told my teachers this. They simply reply with read a book. This is not pushing students to go above and beyond. Students need to be pushed to their limits, not let off easily. The school does have some good in it, but if the teachers here don't wake up, the schools test scores are going to continue to decrease. I personally would prefer a school that doesn't look at the students as a group but noticies individual students as people who are willling to work.

Although I think that the high school does well with many students, I see a definite need for an alternative school in this area, not only for the high school but for the middle school as well. Many students needs are not being met by the existing school.

These ratings are based on when I was in this school which was from 1999-2002. I was very pleased with the teachers including Mr. King, Ms. Tracy,Roxie Aldaz, Mike Siesing and Mrs. Jewell.

Lake County HS has served my children well. They received a fine education. Leadville is a pleasant place to live. It does snow a lot, however. The administration and teachers work hard.

I think that this school is the best in all the area. It, by far, I think beats Salida and Buena Vista. I am a former student but I truly think that this is the best school that anyone could ever go to. They have the best teachers and they all work one on one. There are some in particular like Joe King, Betsey Denney, Melssia Cuningham, and many others. It is a very cool school.
