After attending two years of another Littleton Public School; my children are going into their third year of going to East. I have noticed a significant increase in their learning growth. They have been striving to gain more education after going to this school. The reading program is excellent! They have recently adapted to a incentive program to give children positive reinforcement for good behaviors. There are many caring parents that attend PTO nights, volunteers, and morning parent coffee gatherings. The staff is very friendly and always welcoming. There is a very good mix of cultures at the school. They even encourage the children to learn about the different countries that some cultures come from. Thumbs way high up for this school.
For a School population that consists of mostly low income families, East provides excellent schooling and produces high test scores
First off, the Principal is very professional and friendly. There is a good mix of young vs old teachers there. They recently renovated the school with new bathrooms and a top of the line security system. Outdoor cameras, access control and such. LPS district is top notch and is very serious about education.
New Principal this past year and the school is much better. He cares about the kids first and not just covering his or staffs backside. Like all schools there are teachers there just to be a robot (same lesson for the past 15 year and no flexibility) and draw there wage. But there are more then average number of teachers that care and try. This school is a core school, it has lots special programs and it draws from the district and not just the area causing larger then normal cultural diversification then other schools in the area. Very large apartment concentration in the area so there is a larger then normal student fluctuation making it more challenging for the teacher making sure everyone is on the same level. Lacking classrooms because of the special programs taking space. There is a great before and after school care and summer program.
