Here's what I have learned in the first ten days of school. My daughter has done more, learned more, and become better at many skills that we worked on all summer during public summer school. While many people I know are struggling with early release days, teacher in-service, (already?!) and no real work being done because everyone is still "adjusting" to school starting; my daughter is learning computer skills, developing her writing skills, going to the library and learning! Mountain Peaks is teaching my daughter, because, isn't that why we put our kids in school in the first place? My daughter, by the way, is in pre-k, so the impact of what the teachers do at Mountain Peaks is immediately noticeable. Thanks Mountain Peaks!!

Our son just started middle school after spending his entire grade school years at Mountain Peak. He went from a quiet, shy student who would have been left alone in the public school system (because he would have just done what was asked) to a student who just tested into 8th grade math and advanced language arts. He is a well rounded student who has stepped right into middle school and has made numerous friends. A small investment in our child's education was the best money we've ever spent. We can't thank Mountain Peak enough.

My daughter started this school in January of her last year in pre-school. When she began she could not read or write, she new her letters and numbers and that was about it. By the end of the school year she could write all her numbers and letters, knew the sounds the letters made and was reading. She is now entering 1st grade, reading at a 2nd grade level can do basic math, knows basic geography and can tell time. It is not just the academic part of the school that is so fantastic with only 10 kids per class, she has a personal relationship with her teachers and they all care deeply about the students. Every day the kids have PE as well as their recess so there is lots of time for fun and exercise. She is excited to learn and enjoys going to school. Mountain Peaks is great for building well rounded, kind, intelligent children that care about each other as well as their community.

Mountain Peak is a fantastic school - all of the staff members take the time to get to know each student and they are all excellent educators. Our child loves going to school because the teachers make the lessons fun and engaging. We are very grateful to all the good folks at Mountain Peak!

We were searching for a great pre-school for our daughter. We looked at public schools, charter schools, all the usual suspects. We toured a few, put our names in the hat and waited. While we waited we came across Mountain Peaks, and we were thrilled! Mountain Peaks not only showed us they cared about the kids they teach, but showed us they aren't afraid to teach. Our pre-school teacher is amazing, and our daughter loves school. We are so happy with how our daughter has grown and is always challenged at school. It may be pre-school, but these kids have lessons to learn, and they love learning. Thanks Mountain Peaks for making our decision so easy, and for caring about our daughter and her education as much as we do!

As a mother of a 4-yr old, looking for schools was overwhelming. When we found Mountain Peak, I was impressed with how much attention every students gets. Within each classroom the students are so involved with their class they are not distracted by anything outside of their classroom. My son is very social and loves to play with other children, so it was important to me to not only have a good teaching environment but to have a great social one as well. In the 2.5hr PreK day, he has bloomed over the past year from not wanting to color or write at all, into a being able to write his full name and color mostly within the lines (He is only 4 I have to remind myself). Mrs. Harms is very understanding of each child's needs within the class and knows how to motivate them into learning. The progress of my son is evident in the inventive art projects - paint, construction paper, markers - which come home on a daily basis. He loves to show me everything he has done that day. He would say his favorite thing about school is P.E.- scoring a hockey goal on Mr. Buckett. Thank you Mountain Peak!! Can't wait for Kindergarden.

From the moment you step into this school you can tell they are passionate about creating an evironment that enables the students to thrive and excel. We are only in our first year with Mountain Peak but I can't even imagine sending our son anywhere else. From the staff that greats you and your child by name every day to all the opportunities to get involved with the classroom and other parents, this school proves that they are commited to ensuring each child gets a quality education that is far and above what you would expect elsewhere.

Mt. Peak is a fantastic school. Our son has been going there for the last two years and is excelling in school. He went from having a hard time reading the most simplest of words to now reading at grade level. The teachers are great and really care about the students. The low student/teacher ratio helps to ensure my son gets the attention he needs to learn what is being taught. Extra bonus points for Mt. Peak as well as they make learning fun. There is PE everyday, which is a must for our son. I also love the fact that they are teaching music and French to give the children a complete, well rounded learning experience.

We had heard about this school through a friend and went and toured it while looking for a school for our preschooler. We fell in love with it right away and knew it was a perfect match. We love the small classes, the feel of the school being a family and all of the teachers. We are so glad we went with mountain peak!

Mountain Peak Private School is an amazing place! I have two boys at Mountain Peak, 2nd grade and 4th grade. Both are doing work above their grade level. Their teachers go above and beyond to help each student excel. The school has PE classes every day, which my boys love, along with weekly music, art and French classes. I could not be more happy about the well rounded education my kids are receiving at Mountain Peak Private School, and they are excited for school every day.

Our daughters spent two years at Mountain Peak before we moved out of state. We miss this school badly and think about it almost every day! The small class sizes are a truly invaluable benefit for children. There is simply nothing that can compete with the small classes and individualized curriculum. Teachers at Mountain Peak are more energetic because they're not overwhelmed. The teachers at MPPS were the greatest, enthusiastic and dedicated, they cared about the kids and you could feel the effects of that daily. Our girls miss the daily P.E. that was based around fun activities and the French classes. The feeling of community and ability to see your children's teachers and interact with them every day is also a treasure that you just can't get with a larger class size. My daughters simply thrived at Mountain Peak and I would recommend this school with highest confidence.

Having spent 7 years at Mountain Peak enjoying small class sizes and individual attention, we were concerned about our son entering a large middle school with what seemed like enormous class sizes. We needn't have worried. Academically our son has excelled in many areas and is finding that he is often ahead of his peers. Socially he has made a wide range of friends and as a member of the Student Council has helped organize a lot of the social events. We feel that Mountain Peak helped nurture our son into a a well rounded, confident young man with an ability to make a wide range of friends. The education he received during those crucial elementary years prepared him well for his transition into public middle school life. With this success, it was a "no brainer" to send his siblings!

Happy Transition to Middle School: When our son grew up and finished MPPS, we were faced with middle school. We were worried about the transition from a small family oriented school to a large impersonal public school with massive class sizes. Our son was used to lots of attention and loving care, with a small class size at MPPS. Could he adapt? YES! The skills, both academic and social, that he learned at MPPS are serving him well. Academically, the middle school courses are easy for him because of his great background at MPPS. Socially, he immediately made many friends at his new school and is participating in a variety of school activities. Because of the small class size at MPPS, he learned that he could not hide in the background or just get by, but learned to take part. He is confident and accustomed to interaction with a variety of people of all ages. Not only has our son made a nice transition from MPPS to middle school, but his friends from MPPS who attend other middle schools also report similar positive experiences.

We love Mountain Peak Private School and highly recommend it. We have two children who attend MPPS and both have excelled beyond all of our expectations. It is a small school and this allows the teachers to completely individualize the teaching for each student. Because of this, each student is able to learn at the best rate for them. This results in the students learning more in a year here than they would learn in a year at the local public school. We know this because we considered sending our oldest to our local public school for fifth grade thinking that he would make some friends there before middle school. However, after talking with the teachers at the public school, we realized that our child was more than a year ahead in math, spelling and reading compared to what was being taught there. We decided to keep him here because we felt he would lose a year of learning if we transferred him to public school. Students who are gifted and maybe bored in the public school will excel at MPPS. In addition, students who struggle in public school (due to any number of reasons) will thrive here due to the excellent teachers and individualized instruction. Come see for yourself!

We moved to CO two years ago, and were looking for a school for our then Kindergarten age son. We had looked at several public and private schools in the area, and after seeing what else was out there (a very scary experience) we decided on MPPS. Our experience has been nothing short of wonderful! Our son is flourishing at MPPS, the staff is incredible, and we feel confident that our son is getting the absolute best education possible.

We have our 4 year old son in preschool at MPPS. The teachers and staff are all excellent and very friendly. This is a small school which allows staff to really get to know familys and students. We are greeted by name by the principle, Mr. Buckett and Brenda, at the front desk every morning. The also have a top notch curriculum which includes zoo phonics and individualized learning as well as daily PE for all kids which is fantastic. We are looking forward to next year when our son goes to pre-K!

We are parents of two students at Mountain Peak Private School and would recommend this school to parents who want a superior education for their children. Our children were attending a different private school in Boulder and we started to notice our older child was falling behind in math. When we found MMPS we moved the children without hesitation. The class sizes are small and learning is individualized. My son is now ahead in math and has a new confidence in his learning. This school goes beyond both academically and socially for the kids. Our children love school and our 5th grader tells me often that he is so glad he goes to Mountain Peak where he is able to learn and not feel like he can't do math. This school is such an amazing place and the tuition is half of what we were paying at the other private school. Our children will be ready to excell in the future because the are getting such a great foundation now. We cannot say enough about this fantastic school.

My daughter needed special help because she has ADHD. She has been at Mountain Peak Private School for a year and it has been so good for her. The small class size of 15 students and wonderful caring teachers have really helped her reach her potential. She has gone from having a very negative view of herself to really believing in herself. Her self confidence is soaring and she is very happy at Mountain Peak Private Schooll. It is the best choice we could have made for our daughter! It's a good value for the money as well.

MPPS is awesome. My barely 5 year-old preschooler is already reading and comprehending what she reads. Also, they have a good curriculum for preschoolers too, with math, science, and social studies. The teachers at MPPS are open about both the child's progress and short commings, and the teacher works together with parents to make sure the child succeeds.

This is our 5th year at the school and I so glad we found it. Both my children have been reading since Pre K and continue to learn above their grade levels in many subjects. The teachers are so enthusiatic and caring which creates a fantastic family atmosphere. Each day I drop off and collect my children from the classroom door which allows me to interact with my childrens teachers on a daily basis, learn what is happening in the class and discuss any work to be completed. As far as I am concerned this is one of the best schools in the area and well worth the money.

My son has been attending Mountain Peak for the last four years and I couldn't be happier. Classes are small, structured and children are given the attention they deserve as opposed to being forgotten in the system. My son has been reading since Pre-K and continues to flourish each and every year well beyond his grade level. There is no better value out there for a private school and the staff and owners are caring, honest people who take the time to get to know each family.

I couldn't say enough great things about this school. Classes are small and structured with enough playtime and physical activity to keep it fun. The teachers engage your child at his or her level. Preschoolers are taught Zoophonics which kids pick up quickly and easily. I don't know of any other schools in the area that use it. There is no pressure to move beyond grade level, but if your child takes on more by herself, kids are encouraged to read early. It is a safe and positive environment, the after-school care is first-rate and they offer summer camps. My son has severe food allergies but their sytem lets me feel secure. The cost is so reasonable compared to other schools in the area. My daughter was challenged, learned something new, and practiced her skills daily at Mountain Peak. It has been a great experience for our family.

I have 2 children at MPPS and my 3rd starts next year. We have been attending MPPS for 4 years. It is the best school in Longmont, by far. MPPS offers excellent teachers and a fantastic, well rounded education. My 4 year old is starting to read already in the pre-K program. My 6 year old 1st grader is doing 2nd grade math and reads chapter books. On top of all this, the teachers ensure my children get plenty of physical activity each day. In addition to the great education, the school provides a fun and friendly environment for my children, so they enjoy going to school each day. Furthermore, MPPS offers a great before and after school care program. I love knowing that if I cannot be there, they are having fun, not sitting in the principals office after school. I highly recommend MPPS.

My son has a late birthday, but was ready for first grade. The public school would only enroll him in kindergarten where he was counting bears and learning to write the alphabet. We moved him to Mountain Peak's first grade class, and within a month he was reading and spelling at 2nd grade level, doing column addition/subtraction, and running science experiments. More importantly though, he is now engaged in learning, interested in what happens at school, and talking daily about what he learns. Mountain Peak has been a huge improvement.

I decided to enroll my two children at MPPS in 2009 and boy am I glad I did. I researched all private schools in county (best money for value). Initially, I had a hard time making the decision to go private because my mom was a St. Vrain teacher for 25 years. However, I couldn't accept a large teacher/student ratio and campus environment (@500 kids). MPPS has @80 on campus. In all the studies I found, a low teacher/student ratio has the biggest positive impacts on students. We also like Art and PE curriculum rolled into each day. Other benefits are; computer lab, music, bilingual tots, creative Halloween, Holiday & New Years party's for the kids, Sled Day and Field trips. The main reason the kids get the fun they do is that they work HARD all week. Bottom line, the local ownership and great staff make it possible.

Awesome school. My daughter started preschool with MPPS, she was in the summer camp and now she's in kindergarten. She learns so much every day. It is so cool to her vocab; a 5 year old using words like ecstatic. All the teachers and the principal know all the children personally and the owners are great. I wish they would offer higher grade levels after 6th!

This school is great. The teachers all care about the children no matter whose class they are in. The teachers talk to each other, and make plans together. The children love to learn, and are encouraged every day to learn at their level. From the earliest level, the children are taught to communicate with each other--which discourages bullying. My daughter comes home and feels like her teacher Mrs. Wills was teaching only to her. She will be attending this school next year for her fifth year running, because she is too advanced in reading, math, and science to put into main stream public schools.

After three years as a student at MPPS, my daughter 'graduated' from there into middle school. As a new middle school student, she qualified for their advanced classes, earned a 4.0 g.p.a. the first semester and is both academically and socially confident. We are thankful to MPPS for preparing her so well for her future educational years!

Both my kids have flourished at Mountain Peak. They have been reading since kindergarten and have been taught science and math from the onset as well. Mountain Peak teaches cursive writing and principled mathmatics, two elements that are no longer required in St. Vrain School District. Even the charter schools cannot meet this school's educational offerings as the teacher's teach to ability with a roughly 1 teacher to every twelve students ration.

My son is in his second year at Mountain Peak and we couldn't be happier with his education! I personally do not believe that you could find a more quality education anywhere else. My daughter goes to the Pre-School at MPPS. We checked out many, I mean MANY, schools and went with MPPS. It is definitely one of the best schools around. The curriculum is excellent. It is a well-structured schedule - children learn to stay focused, follow instructions and play in an age appropriate social setting and not just have free play. It is a small school, the Principal knows all students by name and adds a personal touch. For a private school, it is highly affordable, too.

As parents of a 3-year-old we were anxious to get her into a school setting where her social skills could be developed and honed. From the moment we stepped through the doors of MPPS we were impressed. We were hoping to avoid any sort of 'daycare' facility where kids just play. She can't wait to go to school everyday.

Mountain Peak Private School (MPPS) is the best school I have ever experienced. Tuition is much affordable than other Private Schools. The staff is excellent! Overall, all the subjects are graded over expectation in Colorado. Before my daughters came to this school, they did not know how to read books. However, after a few months, they can read chapter books fluently. This is just one of the examples. The best thing about this school is the teachers encourage them to learn; specially, they are so interested in reading and doing assignments. My daughters are always staying above their grade level in most of the subjects. I feel it s worth it to send them to MPPS and I really appreciated this school and all the staff who provide the best education for our daughters.

My daughter has enjoyed MPPS over the last three years. They ply her with knowledge. She has always come home wanting to learn more about hearts/livers, then outer space, then..., I can t keep up. Plus, 90% of her Pre-K class were reading by the end of last school year. While helping out, I ve noticed the teachers respect each child's individuality, show how to communicate instead of hitting, or punching, or pouncing. It s a great school that kids and parents love, with excellent, qualified teachers.

Finding the right school for our daughter was one of the most important decisions we have ever made. Our daughter was reading and writing before we entered her in Mountain Peak's Pre-K program. As we researched schools for Preschool and Kindergarten, we were told that the public school system would be spending the entire Kindergarten year just learning the sounds of the alphabet, and they wouldn't be able to give her advanced work because of the number of students they have to accommodate...unacceptable. Mountain Peak assured us that our daughter would be able to continue to learn at her individual level and rate. As the preschool year moved along, she was given every opportunity promised. Before the preschool year ended, our daughter tested in the gifted/talented category and was reading at a high third grade level. We challenge any public preschool or Kindergarten program to produce those kinds of results.

I have been imporessed with the personal attention given every student. The teachers are highly qualified and instill in the students the will to learn. Anyone standing by the doors at the end of the day will see the students, parents, teachers and staff talking over that day and what is coming up next. They will also see the children hovering around the teaching staff not wanting the day to end. This school has not just taken the responibility of teaching our children, it has assumed the daunting task of becoming one of the family. You won't find a better school for grades K thru 6. When you plant seeds, they not only need nutrition (education) and watering (teaching): to really blossom, they need the Sunshine (warmth of the teaching staff). Plant your children here and watch them blossom. Larry Crehore

Mountain Peak appears to be quite a good school at first. All staff are courteous and express their concern for student happiness and academic success. My personal experience is that this is not a continuing attitude toward either parent or child. The younger grades seem to be the focus of the school, while the elementary children receive far less in terms of positive communication or academic challenge. Maybe a good school for little ones...needs serious evaluation regarding elementary grades. Not at all pleased.

Mountain Peak has been such a positive experience for our son, D. This is his second year of preschool and we plan on having him attend kindergarten as well. The commitment of staff working with parent and child to support the ever evolving process of a young child s mind is a joy to be a part of.
