Garfield Elementary School

We chose Garfield as a school of choice. Both of my children attend there and love school. I am pleased with the art focus because is truly helps my boys learn better. They use the arts (visual, music, movement, and technology) to reinforce everything from reading, writing, math, social studies and science too. The school is welcoming and offers families a community feel. All of the adults in the building treat my boys as if they were their own. By far the best choice for my children.

Garfield is a small neighborhood school that truly feels like one big family. It's not perfect, but my 3 children love it and so do I. Our district allows us to choose any school as long as there is space - I have no need to look beyond Garfield. The staff is caring and dedicated, the students are pretty well-behaved, and parents are involved.

We are very happy with the school so far - our child is in a full day kindergarten and Mrs. Scanlan is an amazing teacher.

We were very disappointed in the education our daughter was receiving at Garfield. There is a major focus on arts and music, almost to the point it is more important then reading and writing!
