since day one of sixth grade my child has been bullied by the children . Ignored by the teachers. set aside in sports while bad players played . the school seems to have no control over the behavior of the staff or students a shame for the students left behind. we can't wait to move on... middle school has been a horrible experience for our whole family and many others. By the way the kids are lacking in math and science and reading skills by the time they get to high school which makes it hard on the kids and the teachers who have to pick up the slack of the education supposed to have taken place in middle school. when instead they are learning how to CYBER BULLY instead of learning healthy skills what a shame

As a new teacher at Monte Vista Middle School, I am impressed with the positive behavior support system in place here, even though it is not 'official'. I love the way I hear other teachers guide and direct behavior instead of punishing it when it is too late to correct. I like that students are seen as individuals with individual needs and all efforts are made to accomodate those needs. I like the way that efforts are made to help all students be a part of the school and its activities. I enjoy working with other adults who value their students and put them first, and who want to work together to make school a better place for all people. My parents are very involved and we are on first name basis. They have my cell phone number and I have theirs and we talk about their children's progress very often.
