Red Feather Lakes School has been part of RFL's since I went to the old school house on Main St. These children have such a long ride any that it's important that RFL have a school.

It is such a family atmosphere, where great things happen every day. It is a true model for what education should be for kids.

My son is in the preschool program at Red Feather Lakes Elementary and we are so blessed to have this school available. The staff and location are great for developing the full potential of young minds.

Red Feather is a small school dedicated to it's students and the community. It is located in beautiful northern Colorado lakes region and the festivals they put on to benefit the school and the community draw people from miles away and truly bring the idea of family to the fore because that is what Red Feather is, a family dedicated to their children and working hard to do the best for them through this beautiful school where everyone is welcome and and made to feel like this is where they belong. It is one of the best schools in the world

This is a small mountain elementary school that is great for the area kids to go to because of the attention they get. It is a great mountain community also!

A great mountain school with wonderful teachers that make sure to give each child the attention that he/she needs. Very supportive community as well.

It is small, rural, and has great teachers.

The Poudre School District Mountain Schools are beyond words. They educate the whole child rather than 'teaching to the test'. They are a rare and cherished 'diamond in the rough'!

Red Feather is one of our wonderful mountain schools. When I first went to teach special education there, I thought I was going camping in the forest because of the pine forest. The teachers there now are outstanding. They have taken a school that was struggling academically due to high needs students and turned it into a school that is excelling academically.

What a beautiful setting for an elementary school. I am sure that with the small classes the children have an exceptional learning facility. I have a friend that has a little girl attending pre-school at Red Feather. A 2 hour bus trip for any young child to attend pre-school or elementary school is unheard of.

The Red Feather School has a very dedicated staff of teachers and the students attending this school are getting the best possible education possible. this school is the center of the community and provides a great deal of support when people are seking property to purchase within the area. this school is neat, clean and well supported by people living in the area. The student-teacher ratio is great and enhances the students' learning. This is why I believe the Red Feather lake School is great!

The fact that its secluded but still serves its kids

It's the last surviving mountain school in the area. Children from this area will need to be bused up to 2 hours away if this school closes. The student to teacher ratio here is fantastic. If this school closes the school the kids will be bused to will have to put up extra traliers to accomodate them .

Red Feather Lakes Elementary is a small school in the mountains, where all the children get wonderful individual attention and the parents and community all stand in support of the school, teachers and students. They have really been making big strides academically. This is how schools are really supposed to work!

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

Oops! We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Public and charter school test scores for most states come from the state Department of Education. The most common reasons we might not have this data are either that not enough students took the test or that the school was recently opened, and its scores have not yet been reported.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
