Rifle Middle School

Does anyone know what happened to Mr. Melendez? He taught at RMS in the 80's (maybe more).

I think this school needs to work on helping kids with behavior problems turn around in a positive way. Stop letting those ones fall through the cracks.

The staff really cares about the students. Even though they have large class sizes they do the best they can to make sure each child succedes.

RMS is a great school! The teachers and principal are to thank! Our children receive overwhelming support whether they are gifted and talented or are struggling just trying to catch up. The new principal is as good as the last, and the last principal is now assistant super so she's still involved!

My son has been a gifted and talented student from 1st grade through 8th grade and through five different schools. While this school may not have all the money and parent participation of a larger city school, it has a lot of heart and my son is thoroughly enjoying his education at Rifle Middle. He has attended since 5th grade. The teachers are wonderful, down-to-earth, intelligent people who love their students & the principal... well, I like her more than any other principal my son has ever had. She's great! I hope she'll still be at Rifle Middle when my daughter is ready for middle school.

The improvement in CSAP scores and the decrease in discipline issues shows good leadership by the principal.
