This school is a big disappointment. There are only a few teachers I feel are great teachers but for the most part the teachersand teacher aids are bullies as are quite a few of the students. I realize this school is not in the best of neighborhoods but thats no excuse for teachers and students to be talking with foul mouths. The office staff acts like they either don't want to be bothered or at times are too good to deal with us parents. I don't recommend this school to anyone and am thankful my children will not be returning next year.

Its so sad to read that the staff at Thornton elementary ignores bullying! It is such a serious matter and it needs to be fixed! And there should be consequences for the kids that bully! It could be any of our kids. Help this school! My daughter went to this school several years ago and I transferred her to another elementary school. The teachers, principal etc all respect the kids and the parents! Thornton lacks that and treats there students and parents wrong! Please do not send your kids to this school! Look into the school before placing your child there for 5 years!

My son has been in this school since K and he has done very well. The passion and care that the teacers have for the students is awesome. They treat the students like they treat their own kids. I'm very glad that my son has attended this school.

I'm not happy that this school has had low test scores for the past few years but they are really trying to turn it around. Being new to the district I found this school to be better in helping my daughter and parent/teacher communications. The school seems to really want to do right by the kids and is starting to make a comeback. In my opinion, what better school to send my daughter to for a great education then a school with something to prove? I don't think you should go out of your way to send your kids somewhere else. My daughter has excelled here despite the low test scores.

I'm not impressed at all with this school. They have had poor reports for the past three years and I found out why. I feel that they are way behind in all studies. Somebody needs to be an advocate for these children. Enroll your children some where else.
