Grandparent of a prospective student. I am interested in learning more about tho middle school.
My daughter recently entered Rocky Top Middle School as a 6th grader this year. She registered for Math Honors and Language Arts Honors. We recently received a note from the principal indicating that these classes will no longer be offered as "honors" and this term will be removed from the classes. However, there are now colors to denote the separation in workload and expectations. For example, if you are in the "Blue" math group, it means you have more work and the expectations of your learning are higher than those in the "Green" math group. I am very disappointed in the fact that this appears to be an effort to remove "honors" as a category because it makes the non-honors student feel inferior. All other middle schools within Adams 12 that are relatively close in proximity to Rocky Top continue to have "Honors" classes offered. Disappointing!!
RTMS is a great school. That Is All i Have to say about it. You should Attend Rocky Top Middle..
this school is the best but sadly Ill be leaving Rocky Top next year but luckly Ill have all the great memorys Me and Rocky Top have shared your crazy if you dont choice in to this school
I am a student at Rocky Top currently, and I have to say, being a student there is something I take great pride in. Rocky Top has absolutely the best teachers I have ever had, not only in the fact that they teach well, but also because all teachers are very good in dealing with students. Middle school has been such an amazing experience for me, and I am really sad that I'll be leaving Rocky Top next year for high school. Although, I am happy to say that in the three years I have been there and from over the 17 teachers that I have had, I loved all of them with the exception of one or two. Also, all other staff that I have come across are always friendly. Rocky Top is a beyond amazing school, and I will miss it for sure.
It is by far the best school in the district. The teachers are so amazing and my child has learned so much. She is getting straight A's!!!!!!
Rocky Top is one of the most professional schools I've ever had the priviledge of working at. The leadership of Mr. Jami Miller and the amazing teachers and other staff at this school is beyond the norm. I've never seen such dedication to the students and the superb teaching that goes on there. It is with great love and dedication that I rate this school the best I've ever worked for. Lisa Royster
rocky top middle school is the most exciting school in the state. There is always 4.0 around 50 students get 4.0 average ever trimester. The teachers are absoultly perfect and great help. This school is awesome inside and out and contiunes to improve every year. And we are very matue of every sport and accomplishe so much with lots of dedication.
I go to Rocky Top and I have amazing teachers. My math teacher, Ms. Sucharova is the best math teacher in the state! We have a lot of fun at pep assemblies and rock the house. We have lots of cool ac tivities before and after school. Our CSAP scores always turn out high and sports we always go to championships and softball has had two undefeated seasons in a row. In national junior honor socierty we have lots of chances for community service, and have lots of chances to babysit for parent-meetings, so I have no clue what that one person is talking about. Rocky Top is a very inviting school. I shouold know because I am in a wheelchair and at some otherf schools I was treated luke a thing that always needed help, not with true dignity or independence.
Eventhough the school is within its first few years of opening, we tried to keep an open mind after the first few 'issues'. Having dealt with five schools as our children progress; a few district mapping changes; and teacher replacements, all handled very well in Adams Twelve Schools, we thought we had experienced our share of issues. Then one of our children entered Rocky Top. I have never felt like 'us against them' more than I do now. Even when we have significant proof of student intimidation; the insistance to 'handle the complaints in-house' was insulting.
