Preschool is up to the age of 5 than child with attend kindergarten. The younger they are may not catch on to all aspects of a full day of learning. My daughter is four and is part time preschool, and she is smart but not ready mentally.

Yes. They are still potty training or just not ready for a large group. Need more time to adjust to the work expected of them. Unless they are a genius, and catch on quickly. Pre school is for children under the age of 5.

i think it is. sometimes i think parents let them go early just to get them out of their hair. unless otherwise they need help if there is some physical problems with them. then thats understanding..

If the child is ready, why not? Let them take the kindergarten test to see how they do. It's not like kindergarten has a good reading program. Can't stand Open Court Reading.

Depends on the child. Right now I am trying to get my child into kindergarten because the local district cutoff date is July 31st. My daughter's birthday is August 31st. She is reading, can add/subtract etc. She would be bored to wait another year.

I think it depends on your child. My daughter was completely read for kindergarten this september, but didn't meet the "deadline", however I am glad to give her another year to mature.

No, I feel that the earlier they go in the better, because it's just getting harder, first graders now have third grade homework. We have to work very hard to get our kids up there, their future depends on it, they'll still be kids just much brighter
