Rules have continued to change for our special education students. No Child Left Behind uses no common sense in this matter. It penalizes the school as well as the student. Testing alone does not measure what a child knows.

Standardized. What I'd like to know is why aren't special ed students results reported sperately rather than encompassed in the average of the school district????

Parents it is so important that your studnet take the same standardized test that the rest of the school takes. Only in the most extreme cases should a student take a modified or alternative test. Almost all instruction is geared to these tests.

My daughter takes Alternative tests. Which are a tape. She does alot better with verbal tests rather than reading herself.
