No, some students are college ready and some are not. It really depends on the student and their talent. But, if the student wants to go to college, than yes!

What would be the alternative? What different choices would there be other than rigorous university prep courses?
And are all the students academically ready for such courses?

No. I'm not planning on sending my son to college. I'd rather he learn to do something useful.

No bcs not every teacher can teach and not every student wants to study.I feel all students can achieve more than we currently teach in the US but it starts in grade school and at home. It's possible for many to do it but not all try.

Absolutely not. Students should be encouraged to develop their unique talents/skills. We'd do well to consider Gernany's example.

Absolutely! Without a college education there will be no future so we MUST prepare them!

Yes... we have to prepare our youth for the hard road ahead. We can not allow them to get lazy, because our future looses that way!

They're going to try to do this in Los Angeles. Without great teachers and prepared students, I worry the drop out rate will increase.
