This school has truly awesome teachers and programs. My child loves it and honestly looks forward to skipping out the door every school morning. That it is a Christ based education is important as well.

It says alot for a school when your kids love going! We've been with St. Joes now for 5 yrs and each year gets better. Very nurturing teachers, respectful, caring children and parents that are hands on to encourage the schools growth. And don't let me forget those JV Girls Basketball Champs of 2009/10!!

Overall my experience has been excellent. I wish there were programs to challenge the children who are gifted. There is not enough for children who are bored but their are some who are unbelieveable teachers at this school who push all the kids to learn far above what the public schools teach. The after school clubs are wonderful and there are so many to choose from. The principal has worked hard to make St. Joe's stand out as a superior school and is accomplishing this difficult task.

Saint Joseph Catholic School provides a complete education within a loving family oriented environment. Teachers and parents do work together for the well being of the children. The school places a strong emphasis on challenging the children academically. And, they take very seriously the importance of a safe faith based learning environment. I love the school and would recommend it to anyone. I have been in the school for 6 years and plan on sending all my children to this school. It's a must-see for everyone.

I did not think a school like this existed in this day and age. It has a small town feel while providing an excellent level of education. I am speaking as a parent and a former educator. The children learn manners, discipline and respect for eachother and adults. This environment enables them to be children by exposing them only to age appropriate information. Being new to the area, we had the option of sending our children to any of the local private schools and with much research, this was the best one to instill values and education. Spend 5 minutes with the 8th grade students (most of whom have been here since kindergarten) and you will see what amazing, confident, respectful and kind young adults they have become through this school.

Very political & one-sided. The faculty takes a self-righteous & unapproachable stance speaking with parents.

I found a common thread at this school & it isn't the commitment to excellence but rather a narrow minded & beligerant approach to management in the classroom & in the school overall. I think there are far better choices of schools in the area.

St Joe's is the hidden gem of CT! Quality teaching, a nurturing, family atmosphere, superb academics, small classes, a parent community that is not cliquey and really wonderful children. We have not regretted, for a second, sendng our children here. As with any school, there are always those for whom the parent-teacher, parent-parent or parent-Head relationships don't mesh. The school does have some teachers who are inflexible and unable-unwilling to work with those children who are not 'cookie cutter' and these children and families deserve better. The Head does shy away from acknowledging or dealing with teacher issues in these classrooms. It is not a case of 'problem parents or child' - the Head just will not listen to any criticism of staff. Most staff though, are amazing! The IT enhancements, better academics, and after-school clubs the Head has brought, are commendable. Overall, A+++++

Our school is blessed with Faculty and Families who believe in Academic leadership and spirituality of our Christian faith. We are honest, diverse families who share the same, values, morals and principles. Our faculty and parents place the priorities of the children first and are constantly looking at ways to enhance and upgrade for the benefit of the children. Each grade level has only one class which fosters a family type atmosphere. We are blessed and fortunate to be a part of this school for 5 years.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
