CIS is an outstanding school with superior teachers, lead by a dedicated, forward-thinking principal and assisted not only by a hard-working, caring support staff but by a wonderful community of parents led by a competent PTO. They have a gifted program for the often neglected "smart" children and encourage all students to go above and beyond by participating in different independent study projects throughout the school year. CIS provides a nurturing environment for our children while supplying them with the tools they will need for success at Canton Middle School and beyond. WE LOVE THIS SCHOOL!
It's a school that cares. The staff and children are always reaching out to those in need through volunteer work, fundraisers etc. The administration and staff are outstanding. Kid's love going to school at Canton Intermediate!
All of my children had a wonderful experience at CIS. CIS has a caring and compassionate staff throughout the entire school. In addition to the daily teaching curriculum they teach the children how to be better citizens in this wonderful little community. It is a warm and friendly atmosphere to be in and no better place for a child to learn and grow!
I have lived in Canton since my first child was 18 months old and he just graduated from Canton High School. His sisters have also gone through the Canton School System. I am not one to give a great review unless it is deserved, Canton Schools are amazing. The Superintendent in place is a gentleman, a fair and honest person who is visable in the community and who cares about all learners. The Principals and honestly, the vast majority of teachers are just tops. Canton tends to be a community of parents who are involved in the right way and who care very much that our kids have the best learning environment. Community Service is also a big part ofthe curriculum and it is nice to see students who are grateful and who learn to give back to show their gratitude. Wonderful system.
I have to concur with the first poster. We moved from Newington about a year ago, which had very good schools. They do not compare, however, to Canton (or at least CIS). Great teachers, Dr. Grossman is an excellent principal, kids and families are great.
We just moved here about 6 months ago from a near by town that had wonderful schools. We are very pleased by what we have seen so far here at CIS and the very nice students that are in the system.
