Hayestown Avenue School
Amount of homework: Not enough

My child barely had any homework and the teacher does not even make sure that he gives it in every day. This is a first grader and not a fifth grader.

It is all about political correctness and what is good for the school budget. The only determination they have is how to get more money.

If your child is bullied at the school, they will turn a blind eye to protect the other child.

They will only give awards to kids who perform poorly academically and when you call them out on it, they give your child a blue ribbon the next day.

Their secretary has an attitude problem and has no people's skills. The principal should not be in that position. The school administration is in no way organized. They want to make their lives easier. Every couple of weeks you get a paper to pay for this and that. The rating says it all. I should have believed it. It is a terrible school even if your child excelled academically. They will always find something to complain about. The don't do any positive reinforcements only for the students who have poor grades which is understandable, but the kids who do well academically need some recognition. This school made my decision easier to move from Danbury in the middle of the school year.

I think Hayestown is a great school and always has been. There is a lot of diversity in the school which is a reflection of our city and our world.
