We have been a part of St. Mary-St. Michael School since Pre-K4, my grandchild is now in 8th grade. We LOVE the school. As in all systems, there are some minor problems, but, for the most part, it's a great school. We always felt that she was safe there, that every single person there knew her and cared about her, her well being and her academic success. She tested for three private high schools and was accepted and given tuition help at all three. They all wanted her, they said they felt she was very prepared and extremely well rounded for her age. I don't have much good to say about the other Valley public school systems, but, I would never have sent her to any of the public schools in my area.
this is the best school ever. the atmosphere is good. friendly people, teachers are so helpfulmost of all student teachers ratio. This school is topnotch in area.If you really love your kids then give them a favor and send them to this school. they wil love it.There is nothing precious than your kids and these people care about that.
My grandchild attended St. Mary-St. Michael's school since Pre-K. We wouldn't send this child anyplace else. The whole staff is concerned and caring. The security and disciple is top-notch. This was the best school in Derby to send this child too. Said child was accepted at all four private schools applied to.
I attended St.Mary-St.Mikes school and graduated in 2009. The teachers are very helpful and great to work with. The work isn't really that hard but the teachers care about you and want you to be successful. I would deffinetly send my child here.
My daughter went to St. Mary's The teacher she had was one of the worst. Didn't like my child & even made sure I knew it. Took 2 years after taken her out of this school to get my daughter back on track . If u have to send a child for help some where else that means the teachers r not helping your child .. This school should be shut Down . I am not the only parent who thinks this either .. The best school systems in this area is Seymour I Love the Seymour school system they have turn my daughters life around !! Thank God for Seymour School systems..!!!
I had 2 children attend this school, one of whom now attends a private high school. In no way do I think that St Mary/St Michael prepared him for the rigors of this school, or any other - private or public. Plus, all that is offered is basketball & cheerleading - no science fairs, no art fairs, no drama - nothing. I will be glad when my 2nd child graduates.
Both of my kids have attended St. Mary - St. Michael School since preschool and we are very happy with the education they are recieving. One of my kids had alot of problems adjusting to his new year of school this past fall. The Principal and her staff really stepped up and helped him adjust and get on track. This child now has an average of 80-85 and alot of confidence. The principal and her staff are wonderful and go the extra mile to help someone who may be struggling. There is such a warm family atmosphere when you enter the school, you know your kids are in excellent hands. I would highly recommend this school to anyone
This school gives a family atmosphere. The parents are great. The administration and staff are there to help. The eighth graders get into private schools of their choices. Tuition went up but so did my taxes and household expenses! The education here is well worth the cost. I am happy to be part of this wonderful community at St.Mary-St. Michael School. Keep up the super job!
Personally I feel I am paying for a glorified babysitter rather than for my child's education. Tuition has increased for the upcoming school year, there is an assessment fee for ????, and not to mention the countless fund raisers. Not very happy with this school; however, the principal is wonderful and I know she is doing her best. Overall too expensive for the quality of education.
The curriculum is dated. Most children are graded on a curve. No strategic profile available.
