Profile Completeness

BASIC

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

Out of the all of the boarding schools in America, I think that this is one of the better ones to send your kid. It's not perfect, but at the same time, it isn't the worst. This isn't a WWASP facility, and we all know how infamous WWASP is. This school will help your kid boost their social skills, make a lot of new friends, and understand their ASD/NLD. Trust me, it helped me out a lot. This school also allows students so much free time activities, down time, and field trips that they will never get bored at all. As for the academics at this campus, they are satisfactory enough for getting students ready for college. Honestly, the only thing I should address is that the staff, while experienced, should listen the students more often. The students are trying to tell you something. Aside from that, it's one of the better boarding schools for the autism support cause in America.

This school is terrible. They told me that I was going nowhere in life. They had no experience with ASD. Everytime I had a "moment" they sent me home. They also treated me lesser than the other students. They had no confidence in my abilities. Waste of money and time.

This place is a total scam. I was a student here once and lasted only 2 months because my parents were fooled by this place. It seemed too good to be true and then, it was. The staff had little to no experience with true ASD/LD students and they were shocked by their displays of typical behaviors. The schoolwork consisted of totally irrelevant information. There was too little supervision in the dorms so the girls ended up arguing nonstop getting aggressive, even running around naked. They will fool you with a scam at first, but do not fall for it. My parents lost $31,000 on this school!

Franklin Academy changed my son's life. I would be happy to speak with parents interested in the school. In short, they taught him accountability, and helped him develop strong self-confidence. We were told by other schools that he was not college material. He is now a sophomore in a good college, getting good to excellent grades, and knows where he is going. Many of the students have Aspergers, and since these kids tend to be very bright, the school has to hire teachers who are even brighter. They are a dedicated bunch. Like any school, it only works if the student wants it to work. If there is a shred of desire in your child, Franklin will find it and put it to work.
