Honestly after East Haven changed the schools around, this school has gone down the drain. The children rarely get recess or physical activity and there is no hands on learning, not even in Science class. I was severly dissapointed as a parent to see my child bored and not challenged at all. We decided to leave the EH school system behind and choose a different school for our honor student where she could be challenged.

Ferrara has a great environment for the students. The Principal does a wonderful job working with and inspiring the children. My son loves this Principal. The Principal and the staff have found a way to make a caring connection with the students, from the daily morning joke to the monthly assemblies. My only problem with this school is that it only goes to 6th grade. I wish that it had the 7th & 8th grade in it also!

D.H. Ferrara School is outstanding! The principal is the most involved, caring and understanding man I have ever made contact with. I have three children two of which attended the school. I was sadened when my youngest graduated, knowing he would no longer be in the care of such wonderful people.
