I can't imagine a better school for my daughter. In her 3 years at Buttonball, she has had teachers that challenge her academically and encourage her personal development. It has caused me to realize that there is so much more to teaching young children than simply teaching academic fundamentals. The "Specials" - Gym, Music, Art, Spanish, etc. - teachers are wonderful and their roles are more than peripheral. Even the school nurse (Diane) is great! Specifically, her 2nd grade teacher (Mrs. Kuhn) was excellent at identifying my daughter's academic and social strengths and weaknesses and pairing her appropriately with other children in the class to maximize her personal potential. I am certain she does this with all of her students. The classroom dynamic was awesome! With a new academic year upon us and a relatively new to the role of principal (in this school) at the helm, I am looking forward to seeing how Buttonball will impact my daughter this year.

All the teachers that my son had for the three and a half years that he w as in this school were terrific. They made the students work on very creative projects, encouraged 'all round development'

Our four children attended this school for 4 years before we moved in the summer of '10. Our son had a tough time adjusting from home to school during his kindergarten year; his teacher (Mrs. Rice, God bless her) was amazing. The entire staff is dedicated to academic and social success. Teachers are well-educated and truly care about their students. Parent involvement is high, and home-school communication is frequent. We don't miss the snobbery or inflated sense of entitlement from the kids, but that attitude wasn't exclusive to the school.

Overall a good school with teachers who run the gambit from excellent to poor with the majority in the good to excellent range. Their reading program during my tenure has been inconsistent and a disappointment for children who need a more structured reading program. The school pursued a wait to fail policy for many years that is just beginning to be addressed. Many parents provide outside remedial reading support for their children because their needs remain unaddressed.
