My sons just finished 1st and 4th grade the had great teachers(Mrs Rich for my son in 1st and Mr Crean for 4th)both teachers went above and beyond not only with my children but with each student. Hopewell has a very active PTO and parent participation is outstanding.

My son is finishing his time at Hopewell this year. He has been attending through kindergarten. The school's strength is in it's character and community building focus. Great resources for students that are outlyers - both struggling students and gifted. I wouldn't say there are weaknesses per se but there are very few families with both mom and dad full time working parents so many school activities are timed for the convenience of stay-at-home moms and it's hit or miss with your individual teacher's flexibilty to do parent teacher meetings outside the hours of 9-3. Overall - FANTASTIC!

In 2011-2012 Connecticut used the Connecticut Mastery Test (CMT) to test students' skills in reading, writing and math in grades 3 through 8, and in science in grades 5 and 8. The CMT is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Connecticut.
Beginning in the 2009-2010 school year, the Connecticut Department of Education implemented new definitions of what it means to be proficient on the CMT test. The new standards for proficiency are higher than in previous years and the percent of students earning a proficient score is expected to be lower as a result of this change.
