Our children have had such a great experience at GCS. The teachers are very dedicated and caring with a commitment to making every student excel academically, socially and spiritually. It's reassuring to know that our children are receiving a value based education where the primary concern is on learning and growing as individuals. As we've come to realize, no two children are a like, and GCS has met all of our needs.
Greenwich Catholic is a good choice if you are looking for a values based school with great academics and structure. Academics are top notch. Our PK and Kindergarten students far surpass their peers at other private schools in their academic knowledge. There is discipline for both learning as well as for socialization. The children are nice kids who are inclusive of others. Values that are taught at home are emphasized in the classroom. Teachers promote independence and reinforce positive social skills. The teachers are focused on the children and their learning and development. I highly recommend this school. There are some great after school programs ranging from sports to languages to chess. The teachers often run these after school programs.
Great experiences at GCS! Our children have attended Greenwich Catholic School for the past 7 years. While not every school is the right school for every child, this clearly has been the right school for us. Our children, now in grades 3 and 7, have thrived in this Christian community. The curriculum is challenging and competitive, extra curricular activities numerous, and parent body a welcoming group to any newcomer.
The Little Angels program was excellent! BUYER BEWARE: My child was in the TTHpm program & we paid the same amount as TTHam and our children, by the calendar, attended 9 days less, one month and a day. We were promised a credit for this year's tuition then that was rescinded with a 'we don't reimburse' as the rationale. The pre-kindergarten program is horrendous: small classrooms and coloring three pages a day as 'work.' This is NOT a Whole Language curriculum. My child was benched at playtime; she could not make a 'c' or 'squiggly s' so missing playtime was 'incentive.' She thought to have a good day she had to 'zip it' and be quiet. She had hair elastics taken with a 'they are MINE now.' She started hugging the teachers 'to make them like me.' They have a policy for 'extreme separtaion anxiety'--and for good reason!
