West Woods school is great. The teachers and the principal give every opportunity to students, encourage them especially I love their math tools in making the kid learn math in every possible way. My son went to kindergarten and now he is in first grade. I really like his class teachers and in general all the teachers are great and friendly. The Principal is a nice, pleasant lady, excellent leader, but one thing I have to say is she is not keen in to Hygienic issues. The kids are sent to recess to play outside and immediately they are sent to lunch with out washing hands. The principal does not enforce the rule that the kids need to wipe or wash their hands. With lot of illness and viruses going on an elementary school kids need to be enforced with hygienic rules and conditions.

Amount of homework: Strongly agree

My son got homework both in Kindergarten and now in Firstgrade. With the homework it gave me an opportunity to learn how to teach a kid of that age. It also helped me in understanding where my son needs help with and how can I help the teachers in education. In first grade he gets a bingo home work which gives lot of exposure to various areas.

Effective school leaders: Strongly agree

The Principal is a very nice principal. Very pleasant lady. Listens to every issue of the parents. Very nice mother and a very good leader to lead a school. But one thing I don't like is she is not keen in to hygienic conditions at school The kids are sent to play outside and then they are sent to eat lunch. There is no hand washing. The principal did not enforce the rule that kids need to wipe or hand wash before eating. This is the only issue I dont like about her. Kids at that age get sick if she did not enforce to wash hands or wipe before eating lunch. After multiple requests she did put a sanitizer but I am not sure if there is a rule that the kid had to clean hands before eating. Principal wanted the kids to remember washing hands but a kid of that age might forget washing hands. So its the responsibility of the school to remind kids so that they will remember after certain time.

My son has a speech delay. The school psychologists and speech therapists worked very nicely with him to improve his speech and behavior.

The teachers and the Principal teach the kids about being respectful to elders, encourage multi cultures.

Teacher effectiveness: Strongly agree

My son's teachers both in Kindergarten and first grade are very effective and try to understand the parents as well and very friendly with parents. They are very patient in replying to every email when a parent has a worry about a kid.

Handles bullying effectively: Neutral

I luckily had not any issues related to this yet. I know that they would not take anything like this lightly.

Supports LD students: Neutral

I believe that they do. If that is a real concern I suggest you contact the school. The principle is amazing and so are the teachers so I am certain that your child would be supported.

Teacher effectiveness: Strongly agree

They listen and are available through email and in person. They take your concerns seriously.
