Great school. I have had 3 children there. The staff is wonderful and principal is terrific. Those who do need help get the support they need.
Fantastic school. Mona Goodman is a terrific, efficient, and down-to-earth principal. She knows virtually every student by name. Teachers are all professional, responsible and I have never had a bad experience with any of them (I have three kids that have gone or are going through Jeffrey). THIS SCHOOL IS WHY I CHOSE TO MOVE TO MADISON. Excellent school overall, and my girls also get extra math enrichment. My son also was special ed, and I can't say enough about the services he received. At his last IEP, it hit me that the people around the table knew my son just as well as I did and cared a lot about him. They are that incredible.
The entire school, faculty and administration is there to help each student with hi/her specific needs and goes above and beyond to do so.
Jeffery Elementary School was selected as the 2009-2010 Connecticut Association of Schools (C.A.S.) Elementary School of the Year! The teaching staff is excellent and the Principal and the Vice Principal and very involved with the welfare of each student.
My two children are doing fine here. It is not the most beautiful building, ugly late 50's early 60's. The admin is with it and the teachers are good.
I wish parents with younger children felt more welcome to join activities going on in classrooms or just to have lunch with my daughter and her friends. I also feel the gym class could be safer- my daughter has been hurt twice in gym class. The teacher's should try extra hard not to have favorites in the classroom. That has occurred in one of my daughter's classes. It made the year even tougher than it was. Homework length should be more consistent from one teacher to another. We had more homework last year than this year even though she is older now.
