I am a former student, now age 23, who attended at ages 14-15. I am currently an honors transfer student at a technical college with a 3.92 gpa (Dean's-list), I plan to attend a four-year, summer 2005, as a film major. The school is for troubled female teens, and while school work and educational development are emphasized, the focus is primarily on improvement of the individual to function as a healthy member of society. This is accomplished by learning first to function within the group at the school and by enabling students to identify individual needs and appropriate solutions. Theraputic groups take place throughout the day as well as individual sessions with specialists. Teachers work very closely with students and are able to give one-on-one attention due to the small class sizes. I recommend this school to parents with daughters ages 13-17 that have behavioral problems, substance abuse, or criminal history.
