I have two boys at Thomas Hooker and I couldn't be happier with their growth. The teachers, administration and PTG all work together to ensure a positive, enriching and fun experience.

Elementary school of the year in CT. Great staff and parents are active in the school. Also 09 blue ribbon winner. A parent would be hard pressed to find a better school anywhere else.

My 2 children attend Thomas Hooker, there is a new Principal this year. The teachers are very hard working. My 8th grader is taking high school science and math classes. They offer tutoring and for the most part it is very secure. Your child can be in band as well. I do wish they taught a second language.

My child is completing his final year at Thomas Hooker this year and all I can say is that it has been the best in all aspects. The school staff will be missed.

In 2011-2012 Connecticut used the Connecticut Mastery Test (CMT) to test students' skills in reading, writing and math in grades 3 through 8, and in science in grades 5 and 8. The CMT is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Connecticut.
Beginning in the 2009-2010 school year, the Connecticut Department of Education implemented new definitions of what it means to be proficient on the CMT test. The new standards for proficiency are higher than in previous years and the percent of students earning a proficient score is expected to be lower as a result of this change.
