This school harbors no creativity at all. The majority of the teachers blabber on and on about the lesson but the students collect no information. Then, the teachers complain about aggravation. How is this supposed to get kids to succeed. Some of the teachers are magnificent at what they do, but many should be replaced with study hall, an advisor, and a textbook. I think kids would succeed better this way. They only take a random set of kids for enrichment, while a select few kids in the school who are leagues above those in the gifted program aren't even considered. This school needs to be looked over quite a few times. With a few adjustments in staff and procedure, it could be the best school in Milford. It's a shame this will never happen.

Disappointed with this school and some of its staff, who are disconnected both to the student body and parents of students. Little communication with parents and not much feeling of community. No fostering of creativity. Most projects and schoolwork have seemed rote and not very interesting - which may be the norm for Connecticut middle schools. Loads of homework, which means that students don't have much, if any, time to spend with their friends or family. (Much of it is repetitive busywork.) Get the feeling that the kids are being processed in a cookie-cutter fashion, which is a shame.

I am the current band director, and I just got hired this year. I've already learned that there are some extremely talented young musicians at this school. The faculty is so nice, and really care deeply for their students. The administration is top notch, very supportive of us teachers, and really help cultivate a conducive working and learning environment.

Milford needs to take a close look a budget and come up with a Gifted & Talented Program and offer some kind of team sports be it intramurals or interscholastic; needs to be a budget item - may get them out of no child left behind status.

I think East Shore is a civilized, well-mannered school, the way schools should be. It is a place to learn. The teachers have great senses of humor and they teach well. I am happy to have my daughter, a sixth-grader, in this school.

This is very focused on acedemics. Students are required certain things and I feel that the focus is a little off in this school.
