School focused more on things that were pointless and irrelavant to the students future. They rehersed more for the monthly towm meetings than focusing on literacy. My son attended kindergarten at this school because he was not picked in the lottery for any of the magnet schools. A lot of the teachers seemed like new fresh graduates. I feel that 80% of the learning should be done in school and parent should enforce and contribute another 20%. Not the case in this school. The students in the school were out of control like someone posted prior. It's a school in the ghetto so it doesnt get the attention and help it deserves which is SAD!
My son has been in this school since Kindergarten and it is just delightful to see and be a part of the positive growth and changes this school is bringing to the community. I am proud to be a Fair Haven parent!
There are a handful of excellent teachers at this school and the principal seems to be very good, as well. However, many, if not most of, the students at this school are out of control. The school has virtually no ethnic diversity at all and many of the teachers seem to be very unhappy in their jobs. Hopefully our state will begin investing more into schools that reside in underprivileged communities. Fair Haven Middle School needs a LOT of help!
