My child has been going to the school for just over a year. He is very happy there and the work is challenging. Parents should know that attendance is in a steady decline and as a result, the school seems to be getting rid of veteran teachers and scaling back in several areas.
This school is everything it promises to be. The academics are intensive, but welcome. The students are treated with kindness and respect. The Middle School Head is so wonderful, that her office is always crowded with the students who cannot get enough of her. The facilities are top shelf and the curriculum is broad. I only wish they would offer more summer classes/programs. The disparity in wealth between the students does not matter, as they look beyond that, both the students and the Administration.
The Williams School is was wonderful place. When I attended Williams in the 80s, I found it to be academically demanding and wholly committed to teaching students effectively. I am surprised to see the reference to the Assembly of God on this site. This is an error or a prank. Williams is the most secular, non-sectarian school you can imagine. The idea that it would be affiliated with the Pentecostal branch of Christianity is absurd. Go to Williams if you can. Work hard. You'll have a wonderful intellectual and professional life thereafter.
when i attended this school,it wasn't any different than a public school, besides the additional cost.i do not recommend going to this school
when i went to this school,i had a full scholarship and was provided everything expense-wise.i ended up transferring because i really hated going to the school because of some of the teachers.
I do not like Williams one bit.I rather homeschool my future children than bring them to Williams School,New London CT
Williams is a great place to go to school. Classes are very small and the teachers encourage students to come see them for extra instruction. The daily schedule even has a built in time block every day for students to meet with their teachers. The school also offers a wide range of extra curricular activities in athletics and arts, without being overly focused in one particular area. Lots of opportunities, and great location on the campus of Connecicut College.
I have just started my first year at Williams School, and it is amazing. I was welcomed with open arms. The school offers an environment were the student is prepared for the many difficulties that lay ahead in life.
Parents this is by far the best school I have ever attended. The teachers are Awesome! you can meet with them at '9th' period to go over class work, tests, or to learn something you did not understand in class.
I have gone to Williams for six years; it is a fine school. I cannot compare it directly to a public middle school or high school because I attended public elementary school, which is inherently different. That said, all accounts indicate that the workload is significantly more than at most local public middle schools and high schools. The faculty is absolutely outstanding; the students are excellent as well. In regards to certain specific criticisms in previous reviews: Private schools, by their nature, need money by donations; if you send your child to a private school of any sort (including college) you will be getting these calls. Also, as of 2007, the average time each teacher has spent at Williams is 10 years. I would highly recommend this school to all.
