I am a student here and I love this school!!! Everyone is so nice and teachers are always willing to help the kids...its like my home away from home. After being at different schools, i must say that fraser woods is the BEST one yet!! :) we do so much fun stuff and I feel as though i'm doing better here than i would in a public school... academically and socially. I feel respected here and learning is actually fun. I'm very happy here and I hope that others chose to come to this school as well :)
Both my children go to Fraser-Woods for the past 6 years. We moved to the area when my eldest was in second grade. My other child entered as a three year old. Each with their own learning style (for one learning didn't come easy and the other it came very easy) the FWS curriculum caters to their uniqueness and makes learning natural. When they are confronted with something new they raise to the challenge in a curious way. I'm not sure if it is the teachers or the method or both but they make learning fun and give kids ownership for their progress. Kids want to do good. Montessori is different than the way I went to school, much more respectful and subtly educates kids to be the best they can be. Practically no homework makes home life nice. I wish I had Fraser-Woods Montessori growing up! Thank you FWS!!
Having been a student there I feel that this school has an above average curriculum and learning environment in the PK and kindergarten; the first through fifth grade classes lacked proper social skill building activities and the students were kept to a more limited exploration field; many students were left doing drill review worksheets while the students having trouble were walked through step by step. This is great for the students who need this, however, for those ready to move on it was difficult to keep interested in such a slow paced learning group. In sixth through eighth grade the Montessori environment became more like a normal private school, especially in math and humanities. There were fewer hands-on and interactive lessons and more lectures and drill worksheets. The academic level of the material remained above average, though. This may have changed since I left but if it hasn't ...
I love this school it is the greatest school a child could go to im just in 6th grade and the teachers are incredible it is a very small school but a very loving one. It is almost like we are one big family
Each and every child is respected as an individual and encouraged to be his or herself. If a child has difficulty grasping a concept one way, then they try another. The school teaches peace and respect along with a passion for learning.
Great school, i went here from Pre-K to 8th grade. It was like a second home to me and ill never forget the school that helped me grow. I would most defnitely encourage you to enroll your children here. There is so much oppurtunity here. Individual assitstance on your childs individual needs and learning abilities. Plus, with sports and plays and musicals- every child can be in the play or on the team if they wish. no try outs! it is such a warm and fun loving school, its defnitely one in my memories as i grow.
I went to this school for elleven years. you really get to be a kid longer than if you were in Public School. This school has great teachers and such a welcoming comfortable vibe. Fraser Woods was like my second home, I loved going to school.
I have 2 children in the elementary program at Fraser-woods. The school has made such a difference in their lives- the environment, the curriculum and the community is truly unique. We are thrilled to be at this school.
