St. Joseph is an excellent school. The administration and staff are truly dedicated to the students. The school uses the Edline system, a great tool which enables you to follow your child's academic progress. We love St. Joe's!
St. Joseph School is a great place to send your children. There are small class sizes and lots of resources and extracurricular activities available.
There is so much to say about this school. The teachers care about the children and work hard to give the children the education they need. Children that leave St. Joes for High school are in the middle to top classes, most being in the top classes. Grades on graduated students tend toward A's and B's in their new schools. The school provides basketball, cheerleading, drama, mock trial, student council, and band. The school does several performances throught out the year like 'parents/ grandparents' day and the Christmas concert. This helps to provide a family like environmant. The school would rate a 5 if not for the recent change of principle. The current principle has been there for 3 years now and has really brought moral down but the Nuns that act as principle change often so we look forward to new leadership and St. Joes returning to a 5 again.
This school is lacking in commitment to really educating all of the students. The teachers and admin are unqualified to be educational leaders. Apathy leads to undisciplined, uneducated students. After repeated requests to the admin and teachers for help, guidance, cooperation in helping our child we were told to leave if we did not like how things were done there. There is NO caring, NO christian values, No kindness. It is easy to spout religious quotes, however when you see a child failing oveer and over again and you do not respond, do not call the parents, do not care..... you are not following the Bible.
For younger grades this school is great. The teachers communicate with parents with weekly notes home and through phone calls when necessary. The middle school however is greatly lacking. Students switch classrooms at the middle school level but none of the teachers talk to each other. They use the Edline system to inform parents of grades but update it only once a month or so. Students are expected to do all projects by themselves and no information about the projects will be sent home to parents. Spanish is no longer offered at the school.
