Overall, I think Swift has a staff of dedicated, caring teachers and administrators. However, they place far too much emphasis on the clothes a student wears rather than the student. I've heard many of my daughter's friends complain and my daughter has been asked to change several times. My daughter dresses appropriately. I drop her at school and I make certain she is wearing clothes appropriate for school. She is a respectful, hard-working honor student, but this seems to go unnoticed. Instead, she's gotten in trouble when her back shows an inch because she's bent over to pick up her books. It's ridiculous. Unless a student is wearing something clearly inappropriate, clothes should not be the focus. The personality of the student and the student's education should be the priority.
We've had a good experience at Swift, thanks in part to a strong principal, and a couple of the best teachers that we've come across over the years (Mrs. Brown and Mr. Hennessey). From a parent standpoint, Swift is a good school. My only suggestion is that the writing program be strenghtened. The students coming out of Swift are rather weak in that area.
