Turkey Hill School

As a parent, I'm torn between my children's experience, which are consistently great, and my own observations. The kids love the place, which is a testament to the inclusive atmosphere and leadership from our principle. There is nothing but a kind, open atmosphere to all students there. Not really sure what more the previous poster is looking for. Next, discipline begins at the home. Poor behavior points back to the parent s abdication of their duty to instill in their children a sense of responsibility and duty to behave themselves. THS teachers can try their best to change behavior, but it is ultimately the parent s responsibility. THS teachers try their best. My biggest concern is the attitude of catering to the lowest common denominator at the school. Teachers are prepping for the CMT s. I wish the administration would focus their efforts to promote personal excellence and goal setting with the students.

I am very unhappy on the school's discipline and overall character education to its pupil. Also the school teachers do not make efforts for goalsetting in academics. The school lacks in knowledge towards cultural diversity and respecting ethnic backgrounds.

I give it 4 stars. Our new principle is providing great leadership for staff, students and PTA. Extracurricular activities are the best of any school in Orange. Parent involvment is very high and always encouraged. Safty and discipline is very good. Our CMT scores are improving but that is not a great way to judge any school.
