I think the time past since earlier reviews and the change in administrators improved the school.

this school has great teachers, but lacks technology and upgrades which enhance learning. A military atmosphere is employed in this overcrowded and outdated school.

The school is clearly far more concerned with test scores and 'numbers' than they are with the student's happiness or providing an environment that fosters an interest in further education. The principal hasn't even the slightest semblance of empathy for her students or their parents and the teachers clearly follow her lead. I couldn't pull my child out of the school fast enough. If you want a child that will follow orders blindly, not think for him/herself, and fear their superiors; then this is the school for you. Otherwise, I strongly advise that you look into private schools in the area.

Schoolwork tends to be difficult for younger kids. There is no time for social activity. Recess consists of more work if outside recess is not available. The children have to sit in the cafeteria before school starts and are not allowed to talk. Very disappointed and disturbed of what goes on at this school.

About the tests


In 2011-2012 Connecticut used the Connecticut Mastery Test (CMT) to test students' skills in reading, writing and math in grades 3 through 8, and in science in grades 5 and 8. The CMT is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Connecticut.
Beginning in the 2009-2010 school year, the Connecticut Department of Education implemented new definitions of what it means to be proficient on the CMT test. The new standards for proficiency are higher than in previous years and the percent of students earning a proficient score is expected to be lower as a result of this change.
